Should using the word “faggot” be illegal? (México)

The link below is for a note I just read in which, apparently, there´s a legal process going on down in México that basically is trying to make the use of words like “maricón” or “puñal” (=synonyms of “faggot” illegal in both the public and the private sphere. What do you think about that?

Making words illegal is censorship and I am 100% against censorship for anyone over 18.

If we ban the word 'faggot', which also has alternative meanings, because it is offensive, where will we stop...Fuck? Cunt? arse? cock? prick? most of those cuss words only have a single meaning and are designed purely as a cuss word and used to offend.

I disagree as well, I think is absurd in many ways, but it seems that the LGTB movement down in México is really pushing to get this thing pass.

This whole thing began because a local newspaper made a note in which it called the director of another newspaper “puñal” (=faggot), and this other person responded with another note saying that everyone in that other newspaper were “maricones” (=faggots). The Supreme Court of Justice of México is calling this kind of words “hate speech”.
