Gay Christian
#11
Hi tyler, we have other christians here, i myself am not, religion or god simply were,nt mentioned in my house, i sometimes feel bitter about that, it was never even discussed, but i discussed it with myself. Well all will say is do you not want a life with love in it? Right now may not seem like it, but as you get older it probably will, and its not untill you first experience of it, that you realise how freeing and nice it is. The whole gay world is not some giant orgy, love is there too, and some times you can have a gay relationship where theres no sex (penetration). Actually to be honest you cant live like that, just choose one way or another.

If you can spare 5 minutes of your time do take a look at this, it's quite informative and might help you get a different point of view :3

Edit: Bawwwwws. Can't post links until 50 posts, really D: I will avoid that thing just once if it's okay. It's a shortened link to the youtube video

Hello Tyler!

As you have already found out, there are lots of non-christians on here, and are ready for debating on religious subjects.

If you havent found a religious co-heart on here yet, you might want to chat with Bowyn Aerrow.
I think he may feel he's ganged up on sometimes, being the local believer....he would probably appreciate some backup!!!

Hi Tyler,

First of all the bible can be interpreted into anything a person wants it to be interpreted as. Unfortunately humans (not God) have this tendency to find ways to make others feel less than, or worse to make themselves feel like they are better than.

The history of the Christian Church clearly demonstrates that at one time or another some group of people have been scapegoated. The Inquisition, the witch burnings, the Crusades - all clearly show what men can do when given a little power and a little time to utilize the bible to their own devices.

The bible has been used in times past to justify slavery, to justify keeping women virtual slaves to their husband, to justify wars... its not the bible, it the people who use the bible.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/3205727.stm attempts to put both the pro and anti-gay spin on the scriptures. There are whole books and even a few sites that expound on each verse and paint a wholly different picture of those scriptures that are used to make you feel less than because you happen to be gay.

To get you started in reading, I suggest this site: http://www.gaychurch.org/

http://www.gaychurch.org/Gay_and_Christi...an_yes.htm has links to each and every scripture used to abuse and beat down homosexuals where a new light is shed on each scripture.

The story of David and Jonathan is a touching story which the Church has tried to tell us 'oh they only had a Bromance' - Forgetting that they declared their love for each other was greater than love of women, forgetting that exceeded means (oh sure the church tries to hide that one) forgetting for a moment that the Hebrew account (upon which the Old Testament is based) the meanings of words are quite different and leads us to conclude that David and John were lovers - as in homosexual lovers.

Naomi and Ruth are another clear gay couple, this time lesbians... http://www.wouldjesusdiscriminate.org/bi...naomi.html

And Jesus helped a gay couple without even saying anything about 'Hey you two, stop being gay!' - and that couple are? The Centurion and his Pais. http://www.gaychristian101.com/Gay-Centurion.html

I suggest you find a gay affirming Church in your area: http://www.gaychurch.org/find_a_church/f...church.htm

Actually if there are more than one, go, visit each and whenever possible pull the pastor/minister of the church aside and ask them what their take is on Gods Plan for humans and how the Scriptures affect us as LGBT.

I do hope you will find a balance in your life. I hope your journey will lead to better understanding of the bible and how it has been affected by humanities touch all of these centuries.

Thanks I could understand that the Bible can be interpreted in many ways.
I have heard of david and john. That one being the most possible to be true.
However I find it hard for the one about naomi and ruth to be true. I mean they were in laws. Then ruth married a man.
now the last one I am not really sure about I would have to do more research about it.
