Eek, I just read your Post properly BA! ... Don't make me have to top you! :-\

But you're right though, people always say "you're gonna be the girl" in any relationship I have, because appearantly I must have Breasts, A uterus and a Vagina. Even my friends always joke saying stuff like "don't let him get your bugina!" from Noah's Arc :-| . As if I can't get theirs.

But then again, I love who I am, so if that means I get voted for more than others in the gay election, than make me president gurl, I ain't got no complaints Wink .

Yes most people wear a mask in public - regardless of sexual orientation.

My comment was not because I think he is 'acting' or has internalized homophobia...

Being 'straight acting' I have been accused of 'hiding' or 'being ashamed' of my homosexuality, also been accused of internalized homophobia because somehow my 'acting' straight means I can't be gay.

I'm actually surprised if no one has accused him of the same thing(s).

princealbertofb Wrote:@ Bowyn, I don't know so much if Strangerr has internalised homophobia (don't we all, to some extent, given how society has treated us through the years, even if it' gradually becoming more accepted?) as he's the product of his upbringing and the surroundings in which he grew up. It would be difficult to model ourselves on gay role models when we haven't had any, so whatever comes up is usually an imitation either or one's mother or father, or the female or male attitudes that exist in society. It is just possible that Strangerr has always adopted a rather masculine approach to his demeanour, even if it meant choosing to go with his gay leanings later in life.
Basically, I think we're all putting on an act, especially when in front of a crowd, another person, amongst other people or our peers, etc... I am surely not the same person with my family, with my classes, with my boyfriend, or when onstage for a specific role or purpose... Because of the stigma of being gay, in some places, it's very easy for us to become the chameleons, to blend in with the setting, but inside we always feel that we're not quite part of the picture.
Knowing that human sexuality is so subtle, I wonder how many of us are total tops, or total bottoms, or versatile, proportionately? Might that not also be a matter of self discovery and of experience?

You're right, David. I know we can think along very similar lines. Our old experience, I suppose.

Woop - there it is.

I call it genderfication - its starts at birth when the doctor looks and sees if you do or do not have a penis.

If you have a penis you get the blue blanket, if you don't have one you get a pink blanket and every action and choice made by parents and society thereafter is dependent on your gender.

This has bled over to the LGBT community - Lesbians and Gays appear more affected. Like Odi being called the girl in a relationship - Geez, really, Odi ain't no girl and most likely have not a single desire to trade in the penis for a vagy...

(Sorry Odi, I really am not trying to single you out and pick on you).

You are also right, gay men should be feminists and work hard(er) to break down these gender-roles.

Gurl-Sis-Honey-Child-Boo, I just don't have any gay black ass time to give a crap really, but it is becoming monotonous, which is probably why I really gave up caring, cause I don't have spare fucks to give out like that.

I just live my life, yes Ma'am!

I was wrapped in a Green Blankie, which is my fav colour by the way, cause I'm neutral, I don't have time to worry over such trivial things such as "womanly" or "manly" anything.

It's okay BA, as long as it's you, I don't mind :-P
