Well yeah I suppose, I never really thought of that. But exactly, I mean civil partnership pretty much is a marriage isn't it? I mean you get all the rights and responsibilities of a marriage so you should get the sex as well. Assuming you've been keeping it. Lol.

As for a civil partnership, it can mean the heavens and you can make vows to your partner and mean it with all your heart and soul but in the cold hearted legal system a civil partnership is a legal document recognising a partnership just like a partnership between two businesses.

A civil partnership does not recognise the relationship, technically by law two str8 guys could get a civil partnership they don't have to be in a relationship.

Ok after my little rant going off topic, I am a gay man and I believe sex outside marriage is ok if you love the person you do it with. If you just sleep around that's wrong. As for myself personally well I know I'm going to Hell anyway so I'm gonna enjoy myself now before I go and to anyone else I would tell them t do the same.

Mine and most of my friends' motto:
"We're all going to Hell so go enjoy yourself, when we die I'll meet you at the bar"

Yeah I have a reserved ticket on the Hell Express too. Confusedmile:

Just a side note, I don't think 'sleeping around' is necessarily a bad thing but let me elaborate. There are people that do it for money or people that can't commit to relationships etc etc. Well that is down to them. There are people obviously willing to pay money etc. so more fool them. It makes it wrong in your view and immoral etc. but to be honest, that's their perogative. Just like you choosing to only have sex when you love someone is your's. Who are you to judge them Confusedmile: If they want to take money in exchange for sexual services, well, they know the risks associated and they also know what kind of a reputation they are going to be subjected to and they also know that we live in a judgemental society.

I personally don't sleep around - I believe that to have penetrative sex with somebody you have to trust them fully. You have to be completely comfortable around them and more importantly, you BOTH have to really want it. And personally, I never have done anything penetrative - and even though I may have found my wonderful guy and be completely absorbed by love, I don't know if I would want to. I know that he is not too into the penetrative side of things and so there's no rush. And I am the same. So it works extremely well in my circumstances.

Again No. They do offer 'same sex marriage' but these ceremonies are still held in registry offices etc and are an administrative process. The sacrament of Marriage still cannot be experienced by those in gay relationships. You can call it a Marriage and you can sign however many contracts you want but until the Religion itself accepts it, then it is still no more than a document with a lot of emotions attached.

Which Church allows real Gay Marriages?
Not civil unions, not civil partnerships.

Don't know about all churches but the other day there was a picture in the paper of a gay couple getting married by a priest. What I noticed though is that it seems that the gay couples are being married by female pastors.

It's a pity that there aren't any users from the countries that allow gay marriages but here in South Africa when gay people get married, they go all out.The church, the tuxs, gowns, reception etc.Of course, some just go down to the local Margistrate's Court to get married like a straight couple would.

I live in the UK, yea people here do have the whole ceremony thing where they get a chirch and that but these ceremonies aren't sually carried out by the Major Churches.

One thing is for sure you won't be having a Gay Marriage in a church under a Catholic preist or in a Mosque any time soon both religions shun it. Granted some people in each church are sympathetic and will perform the ceremony but its not recognised by the religion as a whole and for all intensive purposes only the civil partnership [the contract] is valid the church ceremony if there is one is a facade.

Well actually yes, as you have acknowledged. In every way marriages in the places I mentioned are marriages in name and in meaning. Are you suggesting that straight couples who choose to be married in a registry office are somehow less than married?

As for the so-called "sacrament of marriage" what is it other than a ritual for those afflicted with religion who would like the words to be said by a fellow believer who has been granted appropriate legal authority?

Are you trying to tell a rational person that his most special relationship is only valid if it is solemnised by a fully paid-up god-botherer? That's pretty insulting!

Very well put and exactly what I wanted to say... only I am not very good at stringing words and sentences together!

In any case, Narnia, what on earth do you mean by THE religion? ....
There is no such thing as THE religion!
I'm sure there have been societies in which gay couples have been accepted, maybe even blessed. Maybe not now in the 21st century. But THE religion??? what?
