It always amuses me how people blow out of all proportion legitimate worries when it comes to Islam.
I did not, and have not and will not say all muslims are bad, because they are not.
I am saying a much higher than normal amount of Muslims, compared to every other religion hold extremist views, with regards to the colonising/conquering or Western countries.
I find the way Gays and women are treated by Muslims to be very offensive and I do not believe it has any place in modern day Britain.
However I accept not every Muslim thinks this way.
If people here want to label me in any negative view, to be honest I don't give a monkeys, all I would say is stay away from the Middle East if you value your life. ,

so , saying it's wrong to broadcast prayer at 4 in the morning isn't blowing things out of proportion at all ?

Englishman Wrote:Do you know how many Islamic channels are broadcast free to air in the UK?
We have 5 mainstream channels, and Islamic channels out number that.
So tell me, why do they need to use the mainstream channels for prayer?
After giving it another thought,if I am to migrate to,let say,UK, I don't really mind if our prayer is not broadcast on mainstream channels. I know what I'm getting into when I migrate to non-Islamic country, and if people of the country aren't comfortable with that, why the force? I should be more tolerant since it is not like in my own country. And I could always watch Islamic channels.
I wonder though, who gave approval for this broadcast? If it was a Muslim, fair enough, maybe he doesn't realize people of UK aren't comfortable with it. But if it was a non-Muslim,why indeed?

Ralph Lee, head of factual programming at Channel 4, has written in the Radio Times: ‘No doubt Channel 4 will be criticised for focusing attention on a “minority†religion, but that’s what we’re here to do — provide a voice to the under-represented.’
The head of Channel 4 is a non-muslim, and I think he was the one who made the decision, so hopefully that answers your question about who/why.

Mazma, i appreciate your comments. Most muslims here dont seem to feel that way apparantly, even worse is some non-muslims dont either. People with NO IDEA of there own heritige. On this little island!

Okay everyone thanks for all the comments, but matters like this, well were only touching the service and we cant agree. Kidchameleon theres nearly 3 million Muslims in UK, the vast majority in England and wales.
Freedom of expression? I'd like to see how that plays out in places under sharia law.

I see. So when people come from oppressed countries that lack freedom of expression we don't think twice about treating them the same way in our own countries. I'm taking notes over here! What a government does and what an individual does are two different things. You can't just go: Hey, Amir! If I went to your homecountry I'd probably be hung or something so the importance of your freedom over here in my country is not all that important. Shame on you!

Yes, and 62.74 million people, by the 2011 census' count.
Assuming your number is correct, 3 million is still - by my reckoning - quite a minority.

Okay I'll be a good boy and make this my absolutely last comment in this thread.
I was just thinking that a lot of you might believe I live in some fantasy world where all muslims are unjustly criticized and where there's nothing but peace to be found in Islam. Wrong. In fact, I know muslim individuals are responsible for some of the most heinous crimes against humanity. There's this thing they do to gay military men in Iraq that... oh well, a description is just excessive but it basically involves slow death and anal glue. That's not to mention suicide bombings, executions, riots and whatnot.
Then we have the regular, peaceful ones who'd never hurt anyone in the name of their God. THESE are the majority and they deserve to have completely equal rights to everyone else regardless of where they live; they deserve respect, political representation and the opportunity to speak their mind. Don't deny them that. Aim your criticism towards the extremist who actually deserve it. Anyways I'm finally out, I'm glad we could all become such wonderful friends!
