Movies you recommend

XRIMO Wrote:Actually, I did the opposite, I saw the movie out of respect for Heath Ledger. His performance is phenomenal and it was his craft. When people die, it makes what they accomplished more valuable because it will never be seen again. This works for actors, painters, writers, and any craftsmen.

As far as I can tell, I never once saw a commercial or trailer that exploited the fact that Heath Ledger had died. He worked hard for his role and he left it for everyone to see.

An heirloom in fact, for all of his fans and viewers.

I took one of those film compatibility tests on Facebook yesterday and I am compatible with no one ... except my 33 yr old son. Funny, I always thought he was older than me Rolleyes

I watched Rokenrolla the new Guy Ritchie film, is in the UK cinemas now. It is about the under the table big business deals and crime. Cleverly done not a predictable movie but exciting to watch. Some violent moments there but with a pinch of irony and humour will make you smile if not laugh. I am not going to say more dont want to spoil the little surprises that make the film but i do recommend it if you enjoy that kind of films. Gerard Butler is awesome! However don't take my word for it... i am biased! (note: he shows butt too!) Winknudge

What not to watch: Step Brothers... unless you are 8 and get the humour.

PA and I saw Happy Go Lucky the other day. Brilliant! I've never been disappointed by a Mike Leigh film.

We went back to the cinema to see Get Smart the next day ... nowhere near as brilliant, but I'm glad they kept the telephone box and the shoes from the 60s tv show I used to watch when I was a kid.

We're waiting for Mamma Mia to come to Geneva. All the films come with German AND French subtitles. I never know where to look Rolleyes

Well, we didn't have to wait long. It opened today. We went after school and enjoyed it so much we went straight back in to watch it again. PA was so happy I enjoyed it so much he was dancing in his seatCheerleader2 and singing along. Second time through the young women behind us were also singing Mexicanwave

Hey mates, the film is great, the music is great and the acting is great too... Though they all did a good job of singing, even Pierce Brosnan, whom I'd heard some criticism about, wasn't so bad after all... Lots of different emotions worked over us during the film. I was so happy to see that Marsh was enjoying it that it just doubled my pleasure.
We both loved the choral scenes. Julie Walters is great, there are some very nice looking young men in that film. And you even get to see a naked butt... funny scene.

Neither! We paid for disaster movie but it had been on 30 mins by time rock n roller started... so we just got our money (well free tickets for anther time) back... and saw disaster movie the next day instead.

It was.... ok... i guess. Not amazing. Pretty funny in part.

@ Marshy: YAY!! We've also seen Get Smart! Thought it was pretty cool - not amazing or the best film ever but on the whole, good. Mamma Mia is a fantastic film! Loved every second of it! In fact, I have the soundtrack in my car and it's been there for months hehe. It's so catchy!
