Government Should make us fit?

SolemnBoy Wrote:Nah, it's not up to the government to keep the population fit. I really can't stand seeing fat children though. Not because I have anything against obese people but it infuriates me that parents would be irresponsible enough to let their kids become unhealthily large. So in schools I'm all for mandatory P.E class, but once you're an adult you can't expect anyone else to take care of your problem.

This is a form of child abuse, but yet these "parents" who are slowly murdering their kids dont get arrested, dont have to answer to a judge, and dont serve any jail time.

As far as adults go....I tend to agree to a point. Like that one man who tried to sue Nabisco for the Oreos he ate, making him fat. REALLY??? You showed the world what a braindead douche you really are by actually trying to sue a company for something YOU shoveled down your throat?

Everybody is out for an easy buck. Even if it means destroying their kids or themselves.

I personally think that people should try to stay in shape (Commonsense)
But I wouldn't complain if the government implemented such policies. I think it'd be kinda neat tbh get all the fatties not so fat. NZL could use a policy to make all of our fatties not so fat. u.u

As someone who is attracted to men with a bit of extra weight, I am adamantly opposed to that.

Can we get married in like 30 years so I can let myself go completely without feeling bad?

If you let yourself go COMPLETELY you could probably do it in 5 unless you have the metabolism of an antelope.

When I was in Germany I noticed that there weren't too many overweight people at least in the Berlin metropolitan areas. The Germans seemed to be in pretty good shape and whilst I am not saying they were all super-healthy, they didn't look too bad considering. Yet as soon as my plane lands in Britain I notice how all of a sudden there are a few overweight people around. I wonder how Brits compare to continental Europeans.

You're right, Tulloni, Britain only trails Hungary for obesity in Europe. Germany is far down the list. The US and Mexico are battling for 1st place worldwide (among industrialized countries), with Hungary 3rd and NZ in the number 4 spot.

Josh, you'll be happy to know that NZ won't let immigrants into the country if they're too fat!

Ban fast food, box meals and the automobile.

Back in the days before the car and everyone riding to everyplace, people were fitter, leaner and healthier because they walked. Even those who rode a horse maintained better posture, better muscle tone simply because one has to use ones muscles to stay on the steed.

As for kids - they stay inside all day long playing x-box, computer games, watching the boob-tube... Kick them out side, make them stay outside until the street-lights come on.

Fitness isn't measured by ones mass either. I know skinny people who can't lift their body on a pull-up bar even once.
