Creepy old guy....

From my very limited experience with gay bars, I've noticed that a lot of older men are almost apologetic when interacting with younger guys. They seem somewhat restrained, as if aware that the guy they're striking up a conversation with might reject them due to the age difference. It's a little sad that such an assumption is there from the very beginning, sort of lurking underneath. Besides, the idea that "if a guy talks to me in a gay bar, he definitely wants to have sex with me" is kind of disturbing but nonetheless that's how most people seem to feel. It sort of explains why everyone I've ever talked to in a gay bar ended up saying something like "sorry, you're not for me" and leaving or putting their hand on my leg. Oh well.

I think its the same mind set I have going on - we all know at least one creepy old guy and who really wants to be that guy?

I asked in my way to get a general poll/idea of what guys really think.

I might just go out to a bar alone one night or something now a little comforted that I may not come off as old and creepy - if I can stop that horrible habit of mine of running up and hugging every strange I see....:tongue:

just changed my profile to show my age after reading this thread - now I don't want to be the creepy guy lol...,,didn't think age mattered that much just chatting online but I guess at my age it does,,,don't want to be a jimmy saville - hit 45 and got told last year my bod is like those on mens fitness mag (true) so us oldies aren't fossils just yet -

does make me smile that newspapers have page 3 girls all below 22 and they get perved over by all ages at work - if I perved over a 20 year olds pic id have the towns folk round with burning torches lol

Funny that you think 'young' people might see older people as possibly "creepy"! I see (and have to interact with) a group of male teenagers in the morning and later in the afternoon, a group of professional working adults. I can tell you I look forward to the latter group as the interaction is more enjoyable. If only I can provide the audio recordings of both groups, you will likely agree (but that's a breach of professional conduct).
