I've no idea what British soldiers are supposed to be doing in Afghanistan. Every time one is killed some sanctimonious spokesperson tries to tell us that this brave man (or woman) has died fighting for their country and for freedom. I've never understood how their activities protect UK citizens. They are not fighting for their country, they are fighting for the leaders of their country, something very different. It's also an odd kind of freedom for which they are fighting if it turns out to be the freedom for courts to deny people legal representation and then sentence them to death for trying to have a discussion.
This whole adventure is a sick joke. How many more lies do we have to put up with? How many more families have to bury loved ones for such a pointless exercise?
