Masturbation = low sex drive?
#1
Hey folks,
Question: If you masturbate, do you feel less horny for the next day or so? Do you recharge back up to full over a period of time?

I love porn and jack off 1-2 times a day, however it's killing my interest in sex. But if I try to abstain for > 24 hours I literally cannot resist. On one or two occasions, abstaining had made me so freakin horny that I jacked off in public (the shame), because it was simply impossible to operate normally with my penis saying "sex, sex, sex..."

If you empty your testicles it stands to reason that you'll have less stuff in them to empty immediately afterwards, to use a crude method of explaining it. It's not bad, but when it gets to a point that it interferes with your sex life, it's a problem I would say.

Also, why would you masturbate/ejaculate in public? Use a washroom stall if it's that bad...

My advice if you want to stop using porn to get yourself off is to delete your porn downloads, bookmarks... the best way to resist a temptation is to put yourself in an environment without that temptation there. If you keep using porn in this way you may develop a porn addiction, and develop unrealistic expectations; which may contribute to an eventual inability to perform with real and actual people.

^I would consider a washroom/ stall public if it's a public room.

It's natural that after you exert the sexual energy, it takes time to build back up.

For me, 7 days is when I lose my mind. Which is pretty amazing.

But the normal period is on the third day. The third day since I've masturbated is when I need to again.

I really can't go twice in one day, it's too much for me.

Oh true, hopefully he meant that. I imagined him just whipping it out in class or something under a desk... "HOPE NO ONE SEES THIS" Biggrinflip

Lol I'm not that crazy. Yes a washroom... *blush*

Oh I am already addicted to porn. Deleted! I admit, I've been using porn too long to avoid real sex. It ends today, bring on the cockous.

Sex is much more involved than porn makes it look, which is why I think people have unreasonable expectations. Having good sex is all about being in the moment, playing with your partner, being sensitive to subtle communication hints (what the guy seems to like/dislike), being confident and ready to share your intimacy with someone else(s), and so on. The complete opposite of porn which lets you be a passive observer. I think as long as people are prepared to realise that doing sex is very different to porn, then porn itself won't create unreasonable expectations, other than apparently to decrease libido.

I have a 50 day cycle and a yearly cycle.

The 50 day cycle is a prolonged typical male cycle of hormones: http://www.freedomtoheal.org/2010/08/men...-have.html where as most men cycle every 28-30 days (yes like a woman) my cycle is controlled by some other alien moon and is about 48.5 days or so.

I also have Seasonal Affected disorder, which is my yearly cycle. In winter I barely think about sex no matter were I am on my 50 day cycle. In summer, especially if I'm peaking with hypo-mania and with my 50 day cycle I would jack off in public if I didn't keep a strong mastery over my passions.

Previous partners have 'complained' about 'too much affection' in those summers where my two cycles overlapped......

Hormones is most likely your underlying cause. If you are actually jacking off in public having lost mastery of your passions because your sex drive controls you, it is high time you speak to a doctor before you end up on the Sex Offender's List.

There are a number of holistic approaches (natural) toward mellowing out and evening out ones libido. They are not talked about as much as those approaches toward giving men a never dying libido.

Then there is diet: https://www.google.com/#q=dietary+ways+to+lower+libido

If you eat a lot of chicken, and beef and other meats from grocery store that does not have the 'organic' label to it, it is possible that you are being subjected to excess hormones from what they inject animals with which could be leading to this minor 'issue'.

As for porn. Everything in moderation. I read recently I a periodical (paper magazine, sorry no link) where men of your generation are burning out their sex drive on pornography, porn becomes an unrealistic 'reality' that they can't match in real-life thus end up having moderate to severe bed activity 'issues' from ED to lack of finding a partner that they like.

I also understand that young men with super-high sex drives all the the usually suffer the most from ED and hormonal issues later in life (late 40's early 50's suddenly their hormone levels crash and sex drive goes out the window).

Perhaps you are just one of those bright flashes of sexual energy that will turn into a Ultra conservative in mid-life when your sex drive tanks and suddenly you hate everyone who can have sex?

Sounds more like a problem with porn addiction to me. Though I don't know for sure what I think about porn addiction or the therapy for it, maybe it's just another fad/scam.

Masturbation has been known to increase the sex drive and improve sex...but I wasn't under the impression they were doing it to porn twice a day.

And btw, if you're jerking off in public as you can't control it, then you don't have a low sex drive.

This says it all right here.

Fear of intimacy? Rejection? Commitment? You don't need any of that with porn or masturbation.

You say you're going cold turkey on the porn, but if you find it difficult, you may want to contact a therapist.

Thanks all. I'll skip the therapist and just go with exploring the hookup scene and my imagination.

I'm pretty sure porn "addiction" doesn't actually exist. Addiction is when you do something and become chemically and/or socially hooked on it (i.e. drugs, smoking, drinking). Using porn excessively to avoid real sex is actually more like a compulsion, the cure (unlike addictions) is: solve the insecurities and the compulsion will be unnecessary.

Pretty much explains me, although I bought a very bright bulb and have it wake me up on a timer - so my SAD never sees the light of day (oh ironic pun!). I've never experienced ED and am easy going when it comes to guys looks, I don't believe porn is itself bad unless you use it at the expense of real experience (and then only if you desire real experiences). Yeah I've been with guys and sometimes found it difficult to cum - probably more down to anxiety/insecurity than porn IMO.

Not really, when I masturbated, the following day I would recharge back. I just relaxed my body after I masturbated and cummed. Feeling the sensation it's really important. And you must train it in order to get horny feeling the following day. It's not simply problem but you can try. Just enjoy your masturbate my friend. And relax.
