I have an appointment to see my Doctor in two hours... I really don't want to go,,, because my doctor isn't very friendly, he's straight,,, and not very good looking either.... He really isn't much use to me except for refilling prescriptions!!!!!

I think I'll fire him today,,, and see if they will give me someone who's a little more caring... Please let the next one also be prettier/handsomer/funnier/etc............

Obnoxiously,

Well jimcrackcorn, I can empathize. I have too many doctors. My GP is a prince of a guy--good looking, friendly, funny at times and great to be around. The problem is the specialists. One of them is right in his office and she takes care of my diabetes. I call her the Sugar Witch. My podiatrist (male) is half nuts and all weird. The dermatologist is female and that alone gives me the willies, though I know I am not supposed to be sexist. Trouble is she doesn't seem to have many answers. I like the guy who is my oncologist. It is hard to get a smile out of him, but he is a good fellow and has been very good at saving my life. The prosthodondist is a delightful guy. I could really enjoy a few glasses of whisky with him. The cardiologist told me at the last appointment that he does not need to see me any more and that suits me because it is a $40 copay to see him and he charges the insurance company outrageously to wave his stethoscope at me. BUT, the last time I went he came in with a hunk of an assistant that made me slobber. The ophthalmologist is about to whack away at my eyes to remove cataracts. He had better be good. So far I think he is OK because he wears nice shirts and has a roman number IV behind his name.

So I guess they have their ups and downs. I hate the copays and the constant appointments and the women doctors, but being able to function is the goal and some of them help me toward it.

If I were you, I would do some shopping around and check with friends for recommendations. At the price of care these days you should at least get someone who wears scrubs well.
