#51
Thank you for the encouragement. I think I learned to be afraid after my exes treated me badly.

Ive only had one and saw the early signs thanks god as you don't always get that chance. Still makes me a little worried about dating. But I find getting to know someone as much as you can before even meeting them helps to work out if there are nutters or not and always trust your gut feeling towards them.

You'll get the confidence back to try looking again when you are ready.

I like this question, fair enough. But when you meet another disabled person, is it the first thing you two talk about? Or would you want it out there before your first date? Or would the timing just depend on the type of disability and how soon it might be obvious? You probably wouldn't notice my tremor unless you asked me to bring you a cup of coffee - and then I'd probably tell you before trying.

This is what I meant when I said I didn't know the rules, so I'd like to hear.

There isn't no rules.

Same can be asked do you say you are gay straight away or you are a bottom or top, bi an alien what ever lol!

You have to think out side the box, and go with the flow.

My bf and I had been together 2 years when he was deployed to Afghanistan (National Guard). And 5 months later, he had part of his left leg blown off by an IED.
He was at a military hospital in Germany, and then came back to the states for a long and difficult recovery. It never occurred to me that he was now "disabled" and somehow different. He was the man I loved, no matter what.
Now, 4 years after, we are going to be married in August. He has had major problems with adjusting to a prosthesis and had had 6 more surgeries - and it still isn't right.
He admitted that he feared I wouldn't find him sexy or attractive with all of this - but seriously, his courage and determination are a major turn on.
Physical disability has nothing to do with how sexy you are - it is totally a matter of attitude -

I'm paralysed from my waist down and had relationships that didn't last long, some aspects of wheelchair life can put guys off but then if they are that easily put off then their hearts are not in it.

If they were dying, probably no because that would be painful to lose them.

But if it doesn't effect length of life then I can't see why not.

Well I was very attractive to this guy in a wheelchair, but he was a jerk so I never continued our talks anymore. The wheelchair never had anything to do with it, In fact I never really saw the disability, he was just another guy. Even if a person had a disability that required a lot of attention, if I love him I would gladly do anything for him, anything that would put a smile on his face.
