Anon, you did say that the sex was rather rough, it could just be your penis telling you to tone it down a bit... maybe something got chafed inside.
STI? Or just urethral irritation? (warning, graphic)

Better be safe than sorry. Go to the doctor. Now, it takes time for STI or other infections to show. They do have an incubation period where the bacteria multiple and once you reach a certain amount, that is when you start to have symptoms. So look up how long it takes for symptoms to show. I know some STI's don't show themselves for awhile.

Incubation period is the key here:
http://std.about.com/od/overviewofstds/a...ionper.htm So most STDs you can rule out since not enough time for symptoms to appear. Expect them to treat for chlamydia as well just because the two go hand in hand in many cases: http://std.about.com/od/treatment/f/gontreatfaq.htm Consider this the one and only warning shot over the bow. next time it will be HIV or Cancer or some other horrific thing. Gonorrhea appears to be the potential one. Which is lucky because out of the list of possible STDs its one of those that can be cured.

I'll join the game of arm chair non-medical professional internet diagnosis with hardly any information. NGU. Non-gonococcal urethritis. [Damn I wanna use gonococcal as a word in hangman someday!]
Please tell you partners about this issue if you know who they are and haven't yet told them. They could have something and be asymptomatic. When you go to the doctor, they will put a narrow little swab a little bit up your piss slit and twist it around a little to get a specimen. It's not painful, but feels weird. This specimen will get grown out in a lab. They'll probably give you some antibiotics and then notify you if the lab result comes back as anything more than NGU. Take the entire course of antibiotics even if you start feeling better, because partial courses of antibiotics are what leads to antibiotic resistance in the general populace. Personally I don't like nurses sticking swabs in my piss slit, so I make a deal with them. I will do it myself while they watch to make sure I'm doing it right. I prefer to be in control. Don't be embarrassed. It's just a curable urinary tract infection. The doctors and nurses see this stuff daily.

Please, any and all, believe me that when a problem comes up the worst thing to do is to worry and the best thing to do is to get to the doctor and learn what is going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anxiety is senseless when the cure for it is knowledge.
I have been through enough bad health to know for certain that knowledge is power in these situations. Once you learn to handle sickness with knowledge you will heal all the faster.
I bid NO Trump!

So, the doctor doesn't think I have gonorrhea, instead he diagnosed me with urethritis. Both have similar effects of the urethra, yellowish pus-like fluid coming out and pain, but luckily that's my only concern.
By the way, does anyone know if gonorrhea is less likely if I no longer have visible pus? I tired looking it up, didn't really find anything. Sorry I know that's really graphic, I'm feeling sick myself just thinking about it, I just can't believe this was happening. And I thought I was having a shitty week last week...

Anonymous, please stop worrying. Pus is a healthy response to an infection, since it's the discharge produced by white cells fighting the beast. If the doctor is not worried, you shouldn't be either. Were you truthful with the doctor, though? Did you tell him about your oral sex encounter? Because if you didn't, he may have ruled out an STI, going from the wrong information. It wouldn't matter whether you got oral sex from a man or a woman as the symptoms could have happened either way, if you were worried about him finding out your had male on male sex.
When this happened to me, I went to my doctor, he told me to get a test and then when we knew what it was he put me and my partner on a course of antibiotics. When I later entered the army, the doctor there gave me an extra course of antibiotics, just to make sure it was completely gone. (I didn't understand at the time why he did that, but maybe that's precisely because some people don't do their whole course of antibiotics, as mentioned by someone before).

Gonorrhea and several others can be asymptomatic (not presenting symptoms) and often-ish doesn't present symptoms constantly, meaning you can present symptoms for a while, then they go away (appearing as if the infection is gone) then reappear after a while.
Chlamydia is the top dog for mild and passing symptoms, many patients have no clue that they are infected based on symptoms alone because the symptoms are not persistent. Mind Gono and Chlam are often treated together at the same time if you test positive for either one. They just go hand in hand. So if you have Gonorrhea chances are high you got Chlamydia. Which means, yes - you can have penis pus for a while and that symptom stop for a while and still be infected. Now I do hope you told your doctor that you are a gay male who has had unprotected sex. If you didn't tell him that then yes he will diagnose you with some non-sexually transmitted infection. You should tell your doctor that you are a gay man and that you are a sexually active gay man and that you want a full screening done for all STDs. Getting yourself tested regularly just gives you a peace of mind that you can't possibly have if you are sexually active and gay in the 21st century. STDS are increasing in the gay population: http://www.cdc.gov/msmhealth/STD.htm Go ahead Google it. If you didn't get an STD this time, sooner than later (unless you start taking serious precautions and educate yourself on what a sick dick looks like) you will end up being one more gay statistic. Mind bio-hazardous dicks don't always look like the toxic cesspool of infectious diseases they are, this is why we use protection. Or better yet abstain from random sex with just any guy who is most likely toxic in more ways than just one. If you can't tell your doctor you are gay, then maybe you shouldn't be out having sex just yet with men. Failing that, then there is public health - or something along that lines in most places in the world. They do STD screening free and often confidentially. And educate yourself about oral sex: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=wha...ck&spell=1 There are reasons why they make These Tasty Treats. Get some and carry them with you at all times, especially if you are discovering that you can't say no and have reason and logic guide your day to day meeting with men. Everything I just said may feel like a lecture and that I'm being a grumpy old elf. Aside from being a grumpy old elf who loves to lecture people, I am honestly concerned that you will do something stupid and end up being one of those people reporting that you are HIV positive or something equally permanent and disastrous. I don't want that, clearly you don't want that. So be good to you - ok?

Yeah, I told him everything. Told him I'm gay and that I engaged in rough, unprotected oral sex several times this weekend. I know I shouldn't be worried, and I am getting tested tomorrow, but this is really so terrifying for me. This has never happened to me before, and now I face the fact that I might have gono or chlam or both, even though the doctor said that is doesn't sound like I do. But then again, like Bowyn said, everything's so vague, I could have anything. I hate this so much, this just feels like a really bad dream... |
