When was the last time you got angry with someone and shouted at them?

Today, on the telephone with a salesman who had been rude to our receptionist.

How do you deal with a rude person?

Working in retail, I get my fair share. I remain polite, and try to work though their frustrations, which generally causes the rudeness. Unless they become personally insulting or aggressive (which is not too common). In the past when this has happened, I have, again politely, asked them not to speak to me like that. If they continue in the same vain after that, which is even rarer really, I walk away from them and get my manager. He gets paid to deal with that shit haha.

In real life, I tend to ignore rude people; if they are verbally attacking someone I care about then I will see red and step in to defend if needed. General rudeness, I just normally walk away from. I haven't got time for that.

How do you deal with confrontation generally?

I find confrontations stressful and try to avoid them where possible. If forced into one I try to remain calm and put my point across politely but firmly. This doesn't always go to plan however. Shouting and swearing can erupt but things have never become violent thankfully.

Yes I think so. With my own immaturity we'd get along fine.
