If I were to meet you, I'd appreciate some light remark early in our conversation. That would allow easy conversation and get the subject out of the way so that the person could be the center of curiosity, not the hand.

It would also help me gage whether it is a sensitive topic or open for humor, etc.

I'm glad you told us. It's important. But it could never be any kind of friend impediment.

I knew a troll on JUB when I was there, and he made fun of Stephen Hawking's appearance, directly implying no one would want to kiss that face. I was incensed, not that anyone would believe the troll, but that others with physical impairments would feel more self-conscious because of that ridicule.

Of course, most people know better and do not think such childish things.

Oh -- trust me I have fun with it. Any boy under 10 loves it. Little girls do their screamy act about it. Babies too young to count look at it and study their hand trying to figure out if they are weird or if I am.... ANd the fun part is gloves. I stuff the ring finger of my gloves and sex it to the glove's middle finger. You should see people freak out when I pull off the glove and yell because my finger broke off. That pic was from Halloween when I went with a 12 y/o to Walmart. I put on the mask and stood there. Folks just smiled until I held up my hand, then they freaked out ... got some good laughs.

You have a beautiful attitude. Rock whatcha got! I love that rather then feel down about it you've embraced it and have fun with it.

I think it's something to talk about early on-ish if they don't notice themselves but I don't think you need to disclose anything in advance. It's a physical trait like anything else. I also don't see it really being an issue for most. Perhaps if you were looking for a 19yr old twink but maturity tends to bring understanding that such things don't matter.

I don't know if you could hide your hand the whole date,but since it's a very visible physical trait, I don't see the point of waiting any further to disclose it. Just make it casual when you disclose it,like,"Oh,btw,I was born this way". And I'm sure you can filter out guys/gals a lot faster by their reactions then,and focus on more important stuff like chemistry.

what in the hell is a 'ninja turtle hand'? why would you call it like that? i find the naming more disconcerting than the fact that you don't have a normal-looking hand. i don't like ninjas, i don't even know what they are. it's kids' stuff. hearing a grown man talk like that is off-putting. that's my take.
