Meeting people after college
#1
Ok so this is I guess a semi normal question.(?) I just graduated college. I left college without ever having a good relationship. I'm leaving a virgin too, which I guess isn't a huge deal.

But I'm really scared now. Usually I could meet people in class, campus, etc. Yet now I'll be home and stuff. After the first of the year I'm gonna have to start looking for a job and all that stuff, so I'll meet people there maybe. But I'm really scared I won't meet people. How to I meet people after college, specifically possible dates. I have tried apps, but identifying other people is what I think is the hardest part. Any advice?

Find things you are interested in and go to groups that have the same like-minded individuals. So if you like hiking, join a group that does hiking. It is also much easier to meet new people in big cities than small towns.

I find it hard to believe there isn't a gay enclave somewhere within the Fredericksburg/Richmond area. But I suppose seeking out gay bars or IRL meet-ups or social groups, making gay friends and such so that you get introduced into their circle, etc., is SO last century.

Hornet, Adam 4 Adam, Grindr, Scruff, etc., not to mention all the dating sites like iCupid or w/e, seem to be more the norm these days.

Hmmm...my advice is to just be open to meeting people and be friendly. One very important thing to remember....don't expect anything except a conversation...

Smile at other people...say hi to a stranger just because...don't expect anything in return...

That is my advice...it is as old as time....and it works.....

^ This.

I'm confused though. After the first of the year you have to look for a job???? Why not now? why are you still just camping out in your parents' home?

You just need to get out there and start to engage people. Or travel and have adventures. You can't sit at home and wait for the world to come to you.

Get that job,but keep in mind that it is not your life. Make time for getting out and doing things. Check out meetup groups, do volunteer work, get in the habit of talking to people. Stay fit by going to the park or a pool. You will have a chance to meet others and be healthier mentally which will actually help you at work. I don't know a great deal about Fredericksburg, but Richmond has a lot of places to socialize.

I should have changed it, but I now am just in the Richmond area.

Consider getting a paper and pen and read all the advice given here to virgins using dating apps in your age group who come in here wanting to know exactly what you say you want to know but never take the advice given and can't figure out why they hell they can't sit on their butts and make a guy materialize right through the frigging screen they're looking at.

If the same old shit you're doing isn't working maybe you need to do twice as much of the same old shit.
