sweetlad86 Wrote:And if you are talking about Israel you more likely haven't look into the history of Israel your find that its an illegal country which shouldn't be there, it was born out of terrorism in 1947 when Jewish terrorists blow up British citizens. The UN back in 1947 wanted to make Jerusalem a International city run by the UN but some stupid people decide to do a coo and fuck the idea right up.

If I was a Palestinians I would be happy to blow my self up in the cause of freedom for Palestine.

I really hate the word Israel, its not a country as it broke international law back in 1947.

Sovereign countries don't need anyone else's permission to exist and aren't subject to anyone else's laws, they make and enforce their own. The only 'international laws' that really exist are those that countries voluntarily accept and enforce through their own courts, so in effect become domestic laws.

One person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter.

Also, the UN would (as far as I can see) have difficulty organising a piss-up in a brewery.

Bit funny that the UN (League of Nations to they changed the name to United Nations in 1945 after the WW2) just won World War II pretty good 3 years early!!

So running a little city should be that hard???

Plus if you know Cyprus the UN for nearly 37 years keep the no mans zone between the people waring peoples from killing each other!

A group drinking session culminating in getting drunk. Not being able to organise a piss-up in a brewery is a colloquial term of organisational incompetence.

I am sorry you have completely lost me there. Please explain.

Jerusalem is The Holy City for two major local religions and A Holy City for a third. There is far more to argue about with the conviction of faith in the average city.

Good example. They have been there for 37 years and they still have not finished a temporary job. Peace keeping is supposed to be a temporary activity while a formal peace is negotiated. On the other hand Cyprus is a lovely warm Mediterranean island, the food is very nice and there hasn't been proper fighting in years so I suspect that certain countries that don't want to be seen to not contribute troops to UN peace keeping missions but wouldn't want to put them in actual harm's way either regard it as a 'cushy little number'.
Fred

Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.
