Backpacking is probably a great way to meet people...along the way...

You wouldn't want to backpack in or around Silicon Valley...lots of mountains and hills BUT also lots of Mountain Lions

It could be a nice view but yeah, it isn't suit for backpack. Any nice ancient building there?

No...nothing ancient at all except for the architecture Mother Nature gave us..Big Sur and Yosemite are at the top of that list...

The best we have in the form of ancient buildings are the Missions...and on a sliding scale of ancient buildings...they probably wouldn't even make it on the scale
