Some of my macro photography
#31
Great set Axle, thanks for those, the moon shots are good. I might follow suit when I can find some time.

Well thanks guys. The moon photos were actually taken with a cellphone placed against the eyepiece of my telescope...which has been collecting dust for probably a year now.

Some shots are pretty good and some aren't... I've been doing photography since 2012 when I took a photography class an elective. I'm good friends with the instructor (also teaches computer hardware and other stuff) and sometimes I can get him to go shoot photos every now and then.

It is something I do enjoy and I do like playing with film, film is a bit more tricky also a bit more expensive to do... I need to shoot more stuff on film so I can use that as excuse to get more chemicals to develop film and also been wanting to show someone how it's done, it really is kind of neat Smile

Beautifully done. I especially love the blooming rose and the ladybug. Plus those three striking colorful flowers (I don't know their names).

Great talent you have. Best wishes.

Glad you said it first! I want to follow along in your process if welcomed. Like a blog or how can I follow your chemical quest?

Well just about all color film (and some black and white) are C41 process film. There are chemical kits, which is what I use. There are three different chemicals:

Developer
Blix (Bleach + Fix)
Stabilizer

Here's what I bought and the prices for all the items... I got all the stuff from B&H photo...

Product Qty. Price Total

Yankee YAFP
Funnel (16-oz)
1 $3.95 $3.95

Doran DOTTFC
TFC Precision 1.75" Dial Thermometer with 6" Stem
1 $19.95 $19.95

Kalt KACBS
Small Changing Bag Double Zipper
1 $24.95 $24.95

Paterson PAUT2R
Universal Tank with Two Reels (Super System 4)
1 $26.75 $26.75

Photographers' Formulary PHAGBNM1000M
Amber Glass Bottle with Narrow Mouth - 1000ml
4 $4.95 $19.80

Tetenal TEC41PK
C-41 Press Kit for Color Negative Film (Powder)
1 $24.50 $24.50

Wolverine WOF2D20S
Super F2D 4-in-1 Film to Digital Converter
1 $99.95 $99.95

So you can figure everything will cost around $200. The C41 Press kit will develop about 8 rolls of film. Another tip, keep your chemicals in a cool dark place...you could keep them in the fridge...just bear in mind these chemicals are pretty toxic, so be careful not to get anything on food.

Anyway, I will post more later, but this gives you an idea of the things you would need. Let me know if you have questions.

catshello - I'm going to make a new thread I think it would be more appropriate to do so, the above information will all be in it as well. This makes it easier for someone to find the information they need to develop film. Stay tuned....

Not really "macro" photography but here's some stuff I took earlier today at Fontana Dam

This one is a video...you'll have to click to watch... (supposed to be slow motion and it is on my phone but seems Flickr, YouTube don't care and plays only at 30 fps)

There's more but these were the best shots for today...no editing or modifications, just straight converted from RAW format.
