Would you date a fat person?
It depends on other aspects besides how heavy they are.

I'm about 30 pounds overweight, so I would be willing to date someone who is the same situation.

However, I'm active, and trying to eat healthier and lose weight. If they are also trying to lose weight, then yes, I would date them, because we would have the same goals.

If they are heavy and just want to sit on the couch and eat unhealthy food, then what will happen is they will either encourage me to stop working on my goals, or feel like I'm trying to change them or force them to do something they don't want to, and that would make for a relationship that won't work.

No, sorry. I suppose it depends on what one's idea of "fat" is but, no, I would not. I work very damn hard to keep in shape and would expect any future potential partner to at least conduct a reasonable amount of exercise to keep themselves healthy, too. I was chubby at the end of high school and I will never, ever go back to that state. I'm not super cut like an Olympic gymnast or anything, but I'm honest in my body type. A guy I dated a few months ago was really nice and we had a bunch of stuff in common, but he listed himself as "athletic and toned" on the dating website we met on......and he was not, when we met face to face. It would have been somewhat forgivable if he had a little muscle underneath, but no. Don't lie on dating websites, guys! If you're stocky or a bit overweight, please be honest about it. Future dates will appreciate it.

I know, I know, I'm so facetious, blah blah blah. But I'm in shape, plan on staying that way, and would like my partner to be in the same ballpark as me. That's not unrealistic or expecting too much, I think.

Oh, just for the record, I didn't break up with him simply because of his weight; there were more important reasons.

If he's rich he can be plump, podgy, of ample form whatever, but if he's got no money nope don't think so...!

Old thread.... I'm not the one doing necromancy here....Wink

I would not date a morbidly obese person where their weight (fat) is a health issue.

I tend to like men with a nice layer of padding. Padding over muscles with a bit of a peltWink

I understand the type is called 'bear'.....

I wouldn't date a fat guy... I'm shallow, ya. I work hard to stay in shape and I look for the same in others. Maybe when I'm older I'll feel differently... doubt it though.

Well...I have dated a fat person before...they have to be comfortable and confident in their own skin though....or no dice. If they hate their body...I could not date them...that goes for any size person. I am an empath and it would be too much work and completely draining for me to "feel" their self hatred.

I've never dated a bigger guy and I don't think I could. I'm going to be blunt, but I'm not attracted to larger men. I like fit, possibly built guys. Anything else isn't that interesting to me. If I'm going to date someone, I have to be attracted to them too, no offense.

I don't know what's the definition for FAT? -.-' if you've got muffins then probably not.... but if you have no muffins but perhaps a belly? I'd do it, if it's the right guy. : ) I like to take care of myself, so you better prepare to work out with me.
