I like avante garde films so I have to say anything by Andy Warhol or Derek Jarman or Rainer Werner Fassbinder.

Jarman: = a crazy credit card cm that gives you some idea of what his films were like

Loads of guys have already mentioned some great gay films. But has anyone seen Sordid Lives? A black movie about white trash. Featuring Olivia Newton John as a country & western dyke. It's fabulous. I saw it in Palm Springs a few years back and was nearly thrown out of the cinema for laughing out too loud.

It also has a few other well know faces including Jeff Bridges (the adulterous two wooden legged loser who leaves his wooden legs in the bathroom for his shag to fall over and kill herself) and the fabulous Delta Burke.

Truly amazing film with a great cast!

I try to stay away from depressing films but is seems the best gay films are depressing! Fassbinder is my favorite director so his "In a Year of 13 Moons" and "Querelle" are my favs. 13 moons is terribly depressing and Querelle is very sexy and beautiful.

Brokeback Mountain...would Connie and Carla be one? I love it .

The only other gay movie i saw apart from Brokeback mountain which i thot was good was a movie called "Latter days". The guy in that movie is so cute.

I now have Latter Days... haven't watched it yet!


Gods and Monsters... starring Brendan Fraser and Ian McKellan - quite a good film too.

Has no-one seen Cut Sleeve Boys it's a quirky little movie ... I want the DVD but alas here in Australia gay theme movies are hard to get hold of unless they're more than 5 years old.
