I liked Milk, though it was somewhat sad all things considered. Its really the nly overtly gay cinema IVe watched excluding porn or anything so I cant offer much more.
On second thought I did see Philladelphia. Honestly people seem to think highly of it but it seemed kind of underwhelming to me. Like how were the employers culpable? Only one of them even had the faintest suspicion of AIDS and they had no clue of the guy's sexuality. Really they just seemed like innocent dickheads more than anything. Also that gay joke that tipped off Tom Hanks? I dont see how that would be funny or fly over well in the company of homophobes. Like making a joke about having sex with a man in the company of men naked but for towels in a steam room seems like it woul just invite akward silence moreso than dramatic closeups of Tom Hanks and his face. My opinion anyhow, but Ill be sure to look up some of the reccomendaton here.
