What piece of classical music do you like?
I'm a bit clueless when it comes to the names of the pieces but if there's one that I love it has to be Moonlight Sonata, it calms me whenever I listen to it.

I like Richard Wagner a lot. He's without a doubt the best classical artist, in my opinion. I'm sure most classical music lovers know this one. It isn't my favorite piece though.

This one is my favorite classical piece of all-time. It's extremely amazing. The orchestration is absolutely beautiful. It's a true masterpiece.

Thanks Marsh for the music, medieval music is not mainstream classic, but on listening to more and more now, it should be added.
So here is one from King Rychard's time.

Blondel - L'amours dont sui espris [12th century]

Here is some more, maybe a little bit towards ambient genre perhaps.
But still good music to enjoy.

Medieval Music "Vox Vulgaris - Rokatanc"

Medieval Music "Vox Vulgaris - Stella Splendens"

Thanks for these, Rychard. How could I have forgotten about the splendid Vox Vulgaris! Like many of my favourite musicians they are/were Swedish. They certainly don't take the academic route to reproducing medieval music. Excellent!

And yet another version of Ja Nun Hons Pris. This time given the raven treatment Cool

These are inside my Ipod.
  • Pyotr Tchaikovsky - The Nutcracker Suite (Overture in particular)
  • Pyotr Tchaikovsky - Swan Lake - Ballet Suite, Op. 20 (Extracts): Scene
  • Pyotr Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture
  • Ludwig Van Beethoven - Fur Elise
  • Ludwig Van Beethoven - Ode to Joy
  • Ludwig Van Beethoven - Turkish March
  • Johann Strauss II - Blue Danube
  • Frederic Francois Chopin - Nocturne in C# minor
  • Antonio Vivaldi - The Four Seasons
  • Antonio Vivaldi - Four Seasons - Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 8, RV 315, L'estate (Summer)

I have a lot of orchestra pieces in my collection but not exactly classic. But I have to mention that Henry Mancini's Exodus is my ultimate personal favorite. Follows by Love is Blue from Paul Mauriat and his Orchestra.

I must say I found this among some saved files... and I must say it's brilliant....
Mozart's "Der Hölle Rache" ... kocht in meinem Herzen, sung in German by Nathalie Dessay, a brilliant coloratura soprano.
You'll have to watch 1:52 of the scene in German before she gets really mad at her daughter Pamina for letting MEN dominate her.... hahaha
Some things never change.

Yes, i agree, Matty, she's wonderful but so was classically trained Eddy Mercury...
Here's another lovely masculine voice. Jonas Kauffmann with Lamento di Federico... Not sure what opera it comes from. Need to check it out.
