This may come across as silly and clueless but I really have been wondering. What is a prostate? And how does one stimulate this prostate?

All the above should answer your question about "what" ... as to "how", the prostate is reached through the anus and if your finger is long enough to reach it you can stimulate it by gently stroking, rubbing or tapping.
