Just a question, do you know what British actually implies? It implies England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

For a start all British people would not sound like the queen given that definition, only English people would.

But the Queen uses formal English and a lot of Londoners sound like that but most people in English have a varied accent. Would you like the enitre country to be factory processed and distributed conforming to a set standard or would you like variation and individuality?

I get what you're saying though.. and I agree.. although I wish I could understand all accents... sometimes it's like learning a 2nd language... and that's hard enough!!!

Do they really ??

I LOVE listening to Welsh accents - when I took the plane and train to Cardiff I was BOWLED OVER by the variety of accents on the train - 'twas COOLIES !!

And Wouldlikemuscle, I LOVE scones ... my fatal weakness :redface:.
