Damn! You are quite gifted! Thanks for reposting them and continuing...I enjoyed reading all of them. I loved the fairy myth/background preface to Act 2 as well....very helpful.

Just read through your poem azulai, great work! Xyxthumbs

It has a very Pre Raphaelite flavour to it. If you haven't already you should read some of the work of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, I think you'd enjoy it.

Grrr. I just saw your post, Bookworm. Thanks for reading the poems. I think I really need to edit the third and fourth ones. I'm working on something new right now.

I know I studied something of Tennyson in school but couldn't tell you what. I will definitely check his stuff out with new eyes now. Thanks again.

So one day someone put this quote in my head:
And we fairies, that do run
...
From the presence of the sun,
Following darkness like a dream,

~Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream
#32, Act V, Scene 1, Ln 2230f

Anyway, it drove me crazy and one day I wrote this kind of satirical narrative poem.

We fairies of the night

Act I:
There he sits the King in his tower
Jester only play music of lute or harp, make it sour
That will make me feel my misery
My singular nature I must dwell
For it is all I see

We fairies of the night
How fun and merry are the shadows
We dance and sing to our own sweet melody
Fresh from the meadow, our arms full of flowers
How lovely are these wild blossoms
On gentle breeze we shall send
Surely his lips will curve when eyes behold

As blossoms flutter round
They swirl and fall gently to the ground
He gathers his robes tighter, curses the breeze
Rising his royal feet they strode
To the window he sees no view, no beauty in the trees

We fairies of the night
How fun and merry are the shadows
We dance and sing to our own sweet melody
Fresh from the meadow, how sad about the flowers
With finger on our lips we muse of mischief
How to wake thee from thy misery, oh King?

We giggle and we fret we whisper feverishly
To wound petals so, pay he must for the injury!
Take him on a flight, pull him from that tower!
A kick, swift as the wind, to the royal bottom?
Chide him gently, think of the hour!

We fairies of the night
How fun and merry are the shadows
We dance and sing to our own sweet melody
Fresh from the meadow, we plan we plot
Confusion to bring to the royal king
Thy beauty how to make Thee see?

lol. Thanks for the feedback. As my poetry falls short, I offer you one from someone I admire greatly, Hakuin Ekaku. I hope it pleases. Peace.

The monkey is reaching
For the moon in the water.
Until death overtakes him
He'll never give up.
If he'd let go the branch and
Disappear in the deep pool,
The whole world would shine
With dazzling pureness.
