@andy Yes, as @CellarDweller has said, it is. However, for all the ways the film moved me I thought it ended slightly too optimistically. For that reason I thought "The Falls" explored a similar theme in a more satisfying way.

I watched Shutter Island last week for the first time. It's one of those movies where I could actually feel dawning realization creeping up on me! 

I'll have to watch it again, but from a very different perspective! Great film!
