Sleep Deprivation
#41
It works for me all the time! Sometimes too good! I love music so I plug it in or put it on in the background, and my sleep playlist is songs i love, so if im online or on the phone -falls asleep no waking me!!

But its awesome. But hey if I suddenly go quiet.. Im asleep :o x

Thank you for the advice. I don't want to shoot a hole through your suggestion, but getting to sleep isn't the problem (although there are nights like that), but its that I wake up after going to sleep. I have tried listening to music, along with teas, and sleeping pills, but none are effective enough to keep me asleep. Its a real pain in the ass Tongue

But I think now that the stress is gone that my sleeping pattern may resume to some level, I hope. *crosses fingers

So glad that counseling was able to help. What a relief! And now you have a diagnosis. What is the recommendation for a fix? More therapy, anti-depressants or both? (if you dont mind sharing)...

I am glad that you were able to open up a bit with the counselor. It really does help talking to someone who understands what your feeling! I think she is right in promoting your self control. My docs is saying the same about my condition too. One is sometimes really able to make sense thru self analysis. It is a powerful tool and made more powerful with professional assistance.

Yes, you must give yourself the time to get back to normal. Rushing it will probably make it worse.

Seems like you have a really level head and are taking it one good step at a time.

take care,

For now the counselor said that just getting rid of unnecessary stress is important. I have to figure some things out for my self. She said that there are medications for GAD, but I should only take them as a last resort (plus I declined them anyway).
Other than that, I have to do things I really enjoy, whether it is writing, walking, or reading. I have to find time for myself, then I can minimize my anxiety.

Sounds like a good plan. I like that your counselor is not a drug pusher. Anti-depressants are difficult to take but for many a necessity. I was near suicide and they helped with that. Now I am only on anti-anxiety meds which are pretty easy on the body and very helpful - and the ones that I am on are soooo tiny - I feel like they are baby aspirin.

Are you sleeping better now that you have made some positive steps for yourself? Must be a great weight lifting off yourself.

take care,
