ah finally- i had a dream last night, that pretty self explainitory.

my city was fucked up- it was like armageddon had happened and the roads were ruined- houses had collapsed and the smell of smoke was everywhere. i had my laptop with me and people were looting and going wild. and i checked my facebook page and saw my crushes fb page and he was uploading pictures of where he was and it was a few of him on athis beige beach with another woman. and i started crying and threw my laptop into the rubble of a house- went out into the street- and a truck came out of nowhere and hit me. then everything was black until i woke up.

I've had dreams where i'm walking around in some city where something bad like that has happened (I think at least one of 'em had been nuked) but never been ran over by a car  that's harsh.
LOL years ago stuff like facebook didn't even exist at that time

Wish me luck.

Good luck .. sweet dreams Smile LOL

Short dream last night (early this morning actually).

In real life, I put down cork flooring in my kitchen. I love it.

Smile

But it's so dry where I live the pieces actually shrank and now I have a couple gaps in the floor that kind of bother me, but I just live with it.

Rolleyes

In my dream, I'm annoyed by the gap and resolve to do something about it, so I bend down and easily lift up three pieces of flooring. I'm surprised by a couple things, 1) It was so easy to disassemble and 2) These three pieces constitute the entire floor in my kitchen.

What I thought would be a huge complicated job is looking pretty easy right about now. But wait a minute, now I'm wondering if I can buy replacement pieces from the store that will be identical to what I had before? This thought frustrates me a little so I start thinking about it a little more and it dawns on me that I have some left over flooring pieces from the original project down in my basement.

I'm am so relieved, all I need is three pieces to re-do the entire kitchen floor and these old ones came out so easily I'm sure the three new ones will just be a SNAP--literally, like a very simple jig saw puzzle.

End of dream.

My dream last night was odd. I was back on my family's land in Texas, but I didn't dream of Granny or my favorite cousin at all (or even think about them). I was with an uncle and his kids that I only barely get along with and he was saying I could live with him in exchange for helping on the farm and I was agreeing to this. But I would not do this in real life. I might if it were Granny or even my cousin who weren't in the dream, though I have no plans to ever move back.

It was also disturbing because of all the fires. When I was there last summer they were suffering under a horrid heat wave with a burn ban in effect and right after I left the state was hit with severe wildfires, including in their area (though they weren't hit) so I guess that's why I dreamt that part.

Nevertheless, I frequently dream about fires. It started when I was like 5 or 6 and I'd get scared as I'd see a drunken Dad fall asleep in a chair with a lit cigarette in his hand (to this day my objection to cigarettes are primarily their being a fire hazard) and would have nightmares that it would start a fire and the fire would chase me, always right behind me no matter where I ran. As I got older the basic theme stayed the same so that I found myself running from fire. Though in last night's dream I helped fight the fire (not very successfully), which was also unusual.

Here's one I had fri-night/sat-morning :
I'm with a few people who are filming for some sort of TV show (I can't see any of them as they're behind me - <I think I might have been the camera guy> )...
We're on a motorized camera cart of some sort traveling along a (paved) trail/path in the mountains.
Its springtime, and the spring snowmelt/runoff is well under way ... parts of the trail are flooded, but the cart goes through them just fine as its designed for that type of stuff.
The farther along we go, the more flooding there is, also more/deeper snow laying around...
<that's all I remember of it>

Where this one came from I have no idea LOL but its not too uncommon that I'll have a dream where I'm traveling or visiting some place

Thanks for sharing your dream.

I'm intrigued by the "fire" theme but I'm on a trip right now (for another week) and away from my reference books at home. Let me stew on this one for a little while, I'd like to think about it and do a little research.

Thanks for sharing your dream.

Right off the bat, I'm impressed by the "change of state" (i.e.: snow --> snow melt --> water). Could also be a "phase change" or "state of transition".

Need to think a little more about this one too.

Its fairly common for me to have dreams where the weather shows up in at least some little way LOL

II actually remembered one from last night (sun/mon) as well
here again the weather shows up ...

I'm at work...
Outside in the parking area in back of it, getting ready to help move some stuff (like furniture/shelves/etc) into their new storage area. The ground is wet because it rained earlier. There's fairly dark clouds in the area, looks like its gonna rain again soon. There's various items sitting out that have been taken off the truck, waiting to be moved in. There is also a fairly large tree sitting back there on some sorta wheeled cart <dream doesn't show cart-thing or exactly how such a tree is on it> this belongs to the buildings owners, not work...I go over & start wheeling it around. It moves very easily (and is stable/no chance of falling over) even though its a fairly large tree. Off in the distance I hear quiet thunder & decide its probably best not to be near the tree.
...
Now i'm inside doing normal work stuff.

I wake up after that... just a bit before my alarm went off LOL. I can pretty much guess where parts of this one came from.
* new storage area/work stuff = At work they are building what amounts to a storage shed
* the tree = not really sure, but i was moving firewood at home on the weekend
* rain/storm = when i got up & looked out the window it was dark (there was more light leaving my bedroom than what was coming in LOL), cloudy & windy..and it rained some 12-20 minutes later.
I frequently can feel weather changes moving through (not a good thing) and i did somewhat feel it before going to bed, so there was that, I probably heard the wind & that became the other weather sounds like thunder...

You guys have given me some homework, but THIS is exactly what I asked for when I started the thread.

Smile

Totally exhausted now, with not much free time the next couple of days, but I promise I'm gonna respond to each dream when I have the time and energy.

One comment re: weather changes/clouds/rain, etc...

I like to see these as "phase changes" or "changes of state". That is to say, they *might* be metaphors for change as H2O changes from vapor (clouds/steam) --> liquid (water/rain) --> solid (ice/snow).

Need to think about it a little bit.
