  Gun Controls and mass murder.
Posted by: Guest - 04-03-2014, 08:39 AM - Forum: World-News-Forum - Replies (12)

Once again we hear about another mass shooting in the USA and once again both sides of the gun arguements are going to argue their stupid fucking arguements while both side stand back and watch the slaughter go on.

When are people going to learn that 'GUN CONTROL' means keeping your guns stored safely and keeping the guns out of the hands of the people that should not have them.

Gun controls are not and 'ANTI-GUN' measure, gun controls are an 'Anti-Mass Murder' measure.

As far as I am concerned the NRA and the Anti Gun Lobby are far to radical to ever find a middle ground and both of them should just fuck right off and let common sense prevail.

Cupid and Firefox not a match made in heaven
Posted by: Guest - 04-01-2014, 12:21 AM - Forum: World-News-Forum - Replies (12)

So I stumbled on this story today. Essentially, an activist that contributed to the successful proposition 8 campaign has been made CEO of Moxilla.

Responses vary, but the dating site "OkCupid" has had an interesting response: When people visit the dating site from firefox, they receive this message,

"Hello there, Mozilla Firefox user. Pardon this interruption of your OkCupid experience.

Mozilla's new CEO, Brendan Eich, is an opponent of equal rights for gay couples. We would therefore prefer that our users not use Mozilla software to access OkCupid.

Politics is normally not the business of a website, and we all know there's a lot more wrong with the world than misguided CEOs. So you might wonder why we're asserting ourselves today. This is why: we've devoted the last ten years to bringing people—all people—together. If individuals like Mr. Eich had their way, then roughly 8% of the relationships we've worked so hard to bring about would be illegal. Equality for gay relationships is personally important to many of us here at OkCupid. But it's professionally important to the entire company. OkCupid is for creating love. Those who seek to deny love and instead enforce misery, shame, and frustration are our enemies, and we wish them nothing but failure.

If you want to keep using Firefox, the link at the bottom will take you through to the site.

However, we urge you to consider different software for accessing OkCupid.
"

Normally I'm a little cautious when I see businesses involved in political causes, but Okcupid makes their reasoning as to why they care clear.

But what does this mean at a personal level?

Say your internet browser suddenly became "Antigay". Would you care?

Pompeii (New movie that came out)
Posted by: Guest - 03-23-2014, 07:42 PM - Forum: Movies - Replies (6)

So this movie is about some guy named Milo who has his whole tribe of horsemen wiped out and he is the only survivor. He is captured as a kid and then basically the rest of the movie is fighting and Milo trying to get with this girl until Mount Vesuvius erupts out of nowhere, then it's like "evacuate immediately". Basically it's a romance with the eruption of Mount Vesuvius slapped on it at the end.

Has anyone else seen this movie? What do you think of it?

  unnesecary cliche love storys
Posted by: Guest - 03-23-2014, 03:00 PM - Forum: Movies - Replies (18)

IN MOVIES…

I was looking at a dvd of a film called emperor with tommy lee jones, its about the occupation of japan immediately after the WWII surrender… an interesting premise!

So as with most modern films i googled it "rotten tomatoes"

and this what it said… " this film could almost be good if not for the unesecary cliched love story"

This immediately sounded familiar and i didnt buy the dvd…

So many movies do this, its almost like an unwritten rule and im sick of it… like every single story has involved a romance between a man and a woman

Its not a gay thing either, ive heard straight people talk about it

Not all filmmakers do it and they seem wise to it but theres idiots rolling out this tired cliche in every single film even if its not much relevant to the movie or good in any way, just like an afterthought… oh we need a romance, just stick it in there!

  Yvonne DeCarlo..........more than Lily Munster
Posted by: Guest - 03-16-2014, 01:24 AM - Forum: Movies - Replies (4)

Yvonne DeCarlo

If you like classic movies, you probably have missed Yvonne DeCarlo. She had a short period of being a famous actress on the silver screen.

Although she is best known for her role of Lily Munster, she was a sex goddess in movies before she got the role of Herman's wife. Although she never played a sex goddess, her beauty made her someone to pay attention too on the big screen.

Next to her famous role as Lily Munster, her second famous role is in the 1950's big budget movie The Ten Commandments, with Charlton Heston.

Although most of her movies were branded "B" movies, Band of Angels (with Clark Gable) is one of my favorites.

Check out her story, her background, and her movies. She is a great talent and still has a lot to offer movie buffs of all types, of all ages.

  Lar von Trier's NYMPHOMANIAC
Posted by: Guest - 03-13-2014, 09:32 PM - Forum: Movies - Replies (6)

I loves Lars von Trier and I just saw his latest movie, Nymphomaniac (vols 1 & 2). I loved every second of it.

The movie has 'good ol' Lars' written all over it': it's daring, shocking, funny and, above all, cynical.

And yes, there's a lot of sex in it but I didn't find it gratuitous or pornographic at all. In fact, it's quite the opposite. This is an anti-porn movie and its premise is quite clear: 'Love is the secret ingredient of sex'.

Despite the outrageous title, the real subject matter of Nymphomaniac is love and the desperate quest for it. Sex is the disease or, at best, an empty vessel.

And the talented Jamie Bell, one of my favorite bunnies, is in it, too! Smile
