Is film better or worse than before
Posted by: partis - 12-30-2013, 12:03 AM - Forum: Movies - Replies (25)

I was just wondering what you guys things cause sometimes I just think in the mainstream movies are getting pretty bad and I really feel I need to watch a film from the 80s and 90s cause somethings been lost. There are OBVIOUSLY exceptions.

Theres too many sequels and remakes, you can almost feel there trying really hard for the audience to like a film but its just a mixture of old film parts and hasnt got a real heart.

I think modern films with modern techniques can be really good and visually amazing but when its bad its really bad, whilst before even like sets made of tinfoil seem more real cause they are real

And theres something nice about old picture qualitys that isnt HD or crystal clear cause life isnt HD.

Your opinions on best actors in a single movie/role?
Posted by: SilverBullet - 12-28-2013, 10:20 PM - Forum: Movies - Replies (30)

So guys, in films who do you think had the best acting?
IE played their role(s) perfectly.

I personally don't have a best because four people in my humble opinion were solid 10/10
In a specific role.
A certain forum member may agree entirely or disagree completely with my first up Smile

Heath Ledger - Joker - Dark Knight
Johnny Depp - Captain Jack Sparrow - Pirates of the Caribbean
Val Kilmer - Doctor Holiday - Tombstone
Robert Downey Jr - Iron Man - Iron man

There are so many awesome actors like Sean Connery is epic in anything so is Morgan Freeman. So who all do YOU guys feel did a perfect job in a single movie? feel free to go in depth or simply post a name Big Grin.

  Favorite Musicals?
Posted by: MisterTinkles - 12-28-2013, 08:43 PM - Forum: Movies - Replies (48)

Ok, something that is definitely associated with "gay" people......musicals. Something we have ALL been stereotyped with.

So.....if you like musicals (movies, NOT stage productions), what are your favorites??

Here are some of mine:

Hiii,

So was wondering if anyone else here likes to watch them..? I do when
the mood strikes. I've watched a few as of late, 'This Film is Not Yet Rated',
'Bullying', 'Bridegroom', and 'There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane'.

They don't really have to be about LGBTQ topics, anything really..!

Just pretty much clicking on play if the tittle strikes, but looking for
suggestions if anyone knows of really good tittles Wink

  Rape Insurance in Michigan
Posted by: Miles - 12-12-2013, 06:02 PM - Forum: World-News-Forum - Replies (13)

Quote:(Reuters) - The Michigan legislature on Wednesday approved a proposal that would make it the ninth state to prohibit insurance companies from offering abortions unless women pay a fee in addition to the premium.

The proposal, which was brought before the legislature as an initiative petition organized by Right to Life of Michigan, an anti-abortion group, was approved in the House and Senate, both of which have Republican majorities.

State senators voted 27-11 and representatives 62-47 to make the "Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act" proposal law. Under Michigan's constitution, such voter initiatives become law 90 days after the current session ends, without the need for Governor Rick Snyder's signature.

Snyder, a Republican who identifies himself as pro-life, had vetoed a similar measure lawmakers approved less than a year ago. Snyder said in a letter to constituents the bill went too far because it treated situations involving rape and incest as elective abortions, and interfered with the private insurance market.

"Abortion is not true health care and people who object will not have to contribute their own tax dollars or insurance premiums for elective abortions," Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing said in a statement.

The Michigan petition is one of a series of state initiatives in recent years that attempt to limit abortions, including banning the procedure after 20 weeks and enacting new restrictions on abortion providers. Eight other states have similar abortion insurance laws, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion rights research group.

The Michigan initiative drew the ire of Democratic state lawmakers. Michigan Democrats argued that the initiative provided no exceptions for rape or incest and the legislature should have let the matter go before voters in November 2014.

"Legislative Republicans are once again catering to the whims of special interest groups, and the citizens suffer," state Representative Vicki Barnett, a Democrat, said in a statement. "Now, Michigan women need to plan ahead for 'rape insurance' in case the absolute worst happens."

Democratic state Senate leaders called for its immediate repeal.

The petitioners submitted about 316,000 signatures, well above the 258,088 needed to put the initiative before the legislature. The signatures submitted represented about 3 percent of Michigan's population of 9.9 million.

Can we please...

Im talking about movies that make you sit there thinking to yourself "did I just really SEE that"?, "was I dreaming that"?, "what the HELL was that"?, "OMG, OMG, OMG"!, or just leave you totally in disbelief or speechless.

So a recent article in Rolling Stone magazine revealed,
in a recent interview with Manson,
that he is indeed bisexual....

Great!

Another thing the conservatives can twist and turn to make a vile case against all LGBT people....

The religious nuts will have a field day with this story also.

Can't wait to see what they come up with!
