Groundbreaking speech to the United Nations by Navi Pillay
Posted by: Guest - 03-07-2012, 05:01 PM - Forum: World-News-Forum - Replies (7)

Marshlander and I have been thrilled to read this speech pronounced today in the United Nations in Geneva. This may look long, but it really is an important speech. Do read it and consider it alongside Hillary Clinton's recent contribution to the debate.

  Queensland Civil Unions
Posted by: Guest - 02-22-2012, 11:40 AM - Forum: Gay-News - Replies (7)

Finally there is a shift towards common sense in Australia with Queensland joining parts of Australia in a baby step towards same gender marriage.

"
GAY couples are preparing to line up outside the Brisbane registry office on Thursday to sign up for the state's first civil unions. That's when the Civil Partnership Act comes into effect, with the first ceremonies able to take place on March 5.
It will give gay couples the same legal rights as married couples.
The move comes after gay couples who dined with Prime Minister Julia Gillard at the Lodge last night say she acknowledged gay marriage in Australia was inevitable.
Equal rights advocate Phil Browne says that while changing the Marriage Act would be ideal, civil unions are a step in the right direction." - read the rest of the story here

Hidden side of the Yugoslav war
Posted by: Guest - 02-22-2012, 06:54 AM - Forum: World-News-Forum - Replies (6)

http://www.srpska-mreza.com/WarCrime/lm53/LM53.html

The British government has banned an exhibition of photographs showing atrocities committed against Serbs in the civil war in the former Yugoslavia. Living Marxism went to Serbia to get the full story and some of the pictures from the forbidden exhibition. They are published in this special section.

The Belgrade-based exhibition was banned by the Department of Trade and Industry on 13 January 1993, under sanctions imposed on Serbia by the United Nations. Croatian and Muslim groups from the former Yugoslavia have been allowed to stage their own exhibitions of atrocity photographs in Britain without hindrance.

i dont like Clinton or democrats much because he had NATO bomb Serbia

the news lines have said for years "Serbs slaughtered 8000 men and boys"

all sides maybe did atrocities

but why did America feel they had the right to bomb Serb civilians?

what really happened?its been 10 or 20 years

few seem to know who are under 30

i voted for clinton in 1992 but hes such a creep

  The other Boelyn Girl DVD
Posted by: Guest - 02-20-2012, 04:06 PM - Forum: Movies - Replies (2)

hello,
I would recommend anyone interested in Henry VIII reign and tudor stuff watch this film... It is based upon true facts of how henry tried to get with both sisters yet he spared one her life and took her brother and Anne Boeyln.. It is quite a moving story and very well done despite none of the actors or actresses being bloody english which disappointed me a little as i feel history should be played by those who are the nationality of the country which is in question... It also explains the boeylns family and how they met Henry VIII leading right up to the point of getting their executions.. Upon googling this i learnt that according to history their brother was actually bi sexual but was killed for treason....

Zeons rating 8/10

Huh, this seems like an interesting movie, though I'm hoping this doesn't spark someone to reinact it.

  Just wanna write a little...
Posted by: Guest - 02-05-2012, 05:50 AM - Forum: Everyday-Stories - Replies (14)

It is a normal Sunday here in China, kinda cloudy and chilly today. I usually seldom write blogs or something like that. But last night I read an very interesting and romantic love story, and recently I watched some gay romance movies So I wanna write something about me and the past here, where I can be who I really am, cuz my real- life circle of friends wont read this..

To begin with, I’d like to mention how I discover I am attracted to males. When I was a little kid, I remember I had a very good relationship with other neighborhood kids (mostly are boys). And my closest friends are boys too. At that time, we often played together. One boy, 3yrs older than me, was very considerate. Every time I didn’t wanna play games or what, he would quit too and then talked with me. I felt he was like a big brother, and he was indeed very nice to me. However we did not know what is gay. We just enjoyed playing together and having fun like normal kids. I guess that is the time when I started to realize maybe I fancy males more than females.

I had to say, after high school graduation, I just found out how gay is defined and so many gay people on the internet. It is my first time I feel so warmed and not lonely. Later on, I added some gay groups on QQ (a kind of Chinese MSN, with more useful functions though). I made some good friends there, many of whom told me to be careful when looking for gay friends online. Well I met bad guys there too… you know, some are very flirting and full of sweet, dirty words ,just trying to have sex with u….i am kinda pissed with those people at first.. but now I think it is very normal. Because those people just like to have sex with various guys they are interested in, no matter whether they truly love them or not….

Sometimes I really wish I could be born in a more gay-friendly country. Because in China, I am afraid to love and there r many things to concern…actually, many Chinese gays also like to do one night stands, which I cannot accept…thus I am so careful that I am still a virgin (so embarrassed ). Maybe you will ask how I meet my need when I want. .hahah…well. to be honest, I watch porns when I feel horny ..just masturbating though,, (OMG, I am not sure if it is appropriate to write, anyway that is me ).

I am so delighted that I can have access to Facebook, as you know, China has blocked it… I found good friends there too. They are very nice and helpful .Seeing they update their everyday happiness with friends and partners, I feel so good…cuz they made me believe there is true love out there , and a man worthing waiting for…I often imagine who will be my first and the last Mr. right. Lol.. I don’t know honestly… but I am looking forward to his coming….

This month I will be working in Guangdong Province, a whole new place. It is where my career will start off, and I hope my love will happen there as well..

God bless, and all the best~~!

  Kicked out of church :0
Posted by: Guest - 02-04-2012, 10:13 PM - Forum: Everyday-Stories - Replies (18)

I was supposed to perform today at a friend of mines church, because I was invited, and was all primped and ready, after a long day of helping out at my old music institute. Only to be turned away at the last minute, because my shirt was too "un-godlike" and that I would scare the children. Well, I'm not one to get mad (well, easily anyway), so I politely packed up Bertha(my Viola :3 ) and left to go back home.

It's funny cause when I was in there alot of the guys there were checking me out(I can definitely tell :p, we have alot of extreme closet cases, especially in the church), and the children were "oooing" and "ahhing" over Bertha and yet, I was told that my shirt was to "un-godlike" and that I would scare the children. I was laughing the whole way home, cause they missed out on having a young person, who's actually interested in things outside of a gang/violence/promiscuity, perform for them.

Music(especially strings) is not a very common practice here, unless your rich and privledged(like some private school students I know Poke2 ) or are into percussion/ singing. I have a sneaky suspicion that I was removed from the church, was because they could see that I was obviously gay, and did not want me there.

Has something similar happened to any of you? It's sad, but i'm not a vengeful person, but I did want to share my little "drama" todayWhew lol.

Is the Tea Party losing its oomph?
Posted by: Guest - 01-19-2012, 07:06 PM - Forum: World-News-Forum - Replies (36)

South Carolina Tea Partiers don't much like Mitt Romney, the Massachusetts moderate, but they seem willing to vote for him

If 300-plus black political activists held a convention in the Deep South, and the invited speakers were black, it would inevitably, and correctly, be referred to as a black political event. So I'm going to call the Tea Party convention I just covered in Myrtle Beach, S.C., what it was: a white political event.

The attendees were friendly, polite and deeply committed to the cause of imposing a no-compromise conservative agenda on the U.S. government and the Republican party in particular. But, in a state that's 30 per cent black, there wasn't a single black face at the event. Or any young faces that I could see.

The rest...

---

Personally I prefer it when all the crazy extremist right-wingers stick together in a visible group... easier for everybody to see how nuts they really are.
