Returning from Nashville where Carol Ann and Laura celebrated their anniversary, they found a pile of rubble where their dream home once stood.
Despite numerous police reports documenting a neighbor that had threatened to burn down their home and who repeatedly told them the “…only thing better than one dead queer was two dead queers…” no arrests have been made.
The Stutte home had no gas service and was all electric. Even with witness reports of two explosions and a fireball that could be seen above the treeline, that all waterhoses on the property had been cut and that “QUEER” had been painted on their garage the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Tennesse Bureau of
Investigation and FBI have yet to rule the fire as an arson.
What is even more disturbing is that the Stutte’s insurance company, American National Property and Casualty has yet to pay on the claim. Like many homeowners, Carol Ann and Laura had opted for additional coverage in case of total loss. This additional coverage would provide for housing as well as living expenses until the claim was settled. Five months later and not a single penny has been disbursed.
Imagine, if you will, how hard it is for some to pay their mortgage from month to month. Now imagine, that not only do you have to pay a mortgage and insurance on a home that no longer exists, but you have to pay for an additional place to live. Why? If they default on their mortgage, their insurance coverage could be canceled. The the insurance company would be off the hook.
Demand that American National Property and Casualty honor their policy with this family. Call them, fax them, or email them. Public pressure will force them to act. The fax link below will allow you to send an online fax using a free fax service. Please, tie up their phone lines, their fax lines. Add your name to this petition and show your support for the Stutte family and your outrage at American National Propery and Casualty (ANPAC).

Provocative heading I know, but this is the first time I think I have seen any authoritative statement of this kind (but you know it makes sense )
The story concerns a couple in Derby who withdrew their application to foster when it was pointed out to them that the views they hold on homosexuality, informed by their Pentecostal beliefs, are unacceptable.
Quote: The court heard the couple withdrew their application after a social worker expressed concerns when they said they could not tell a child a homosexual lifestyle was acceptable.
Lord Justice Munby and Mr Justice Beatson ruled that laws protecting people from discrimination because of their sexual orientation "should take precedence" over the right not to be discriminated against on religious grounds.
The Johns are considering an appeal.
Derby City Council said previously its first duty was to the children in its care, some of whom were very vulnerable.
Speaking outside the court in London, Mrs Johns said: "All we wanted was to offer a loving home to a child in need. We have a good track record as foster parents.
"We have been excluded because we have moral opinions based on our faith and we feel sidelined because we are Christians with normal, mainstream, Christian views on sexual ethics.
"We are prepared to love and accept any child. All we were not willing to do was to tell a small child that the practice of homosexuality was a good thing."

According to the arrest report, officers asked Antoine Banks if he had any drugs, weapons or contraband on him as he entered Metro Corrections after his arrest. He told them he didn’t, police said.
During a clothed pat-down, officers said they found a small bag of suspected cocaine tied to the waistband of Banks’ boxers.
After that bag was found, a strip search was ordered, according to the arrest report. During the strip search, another small bag was in the foreskin of his penis, police said.
Police said Banks was originally arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a bag of salvia and liquid codeine. Banks arrested on charges of second-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense and possession of synthetic cannabinoid agonists or piperazines.
Banks is now facing additional charges of trafficking a controlled substance and promoting contraband.[/COLOR]
In a bit of unexpected news, writer/director/producer Larry Wachowski is now living as a female under the name Lana Wachowski. Maybe this isn’t really news seeing how lots of the photos are like form 09’ but I’m just read about it now.
I'm not really surprised. This man has abused drugs to point where he's not 100% functional. I've read some of the comments for the article. I agreed with one that he is a "walking vegetable", don't get me wrong... I like his music and everything. I will not be surprised if this illness gets worse and then yeah... :frown: Well hopefully he'll recover. I hope he does recover.
I've just spent a couple of days working at a school in Derby. To my surprise, on entering the staff room, there was a rainbow beflagged leaflet on the table outlining the city's policy statement on lgbt equality. This is the first time I have ever seen any such statement so prominently displayed in any school.
Coming home tonight from a meeting I heard the news that two men, Razwan Javed and Kabir Ahmed, will be appearing in court tomorrow charged with stirring up hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation. This will be the first time the new laws have been tested and the charges relate to a leaflet, The Death Penalty?, which was distributed outside the Jamia Mosque in Derby in July last year.
Whilst the alleged activities of these two men are utterly abhorrent, hats off to Derby for tackling the issue.
