The first main stream gay movie is still the best in my opinion A Torch Song Trilogy .

I'm always looking for recommendations, especially on the obscure/foreign front. I generally like films bleak, dark, powerful.
Some of the best films I've ever seen:
Mandragora (1997, Wiktor Grodecki)
Prinz in Hölleland (1993, Michael Stock)
Lola + Bilidikid (2003, Kutlug Ataman)
Three Bewildered People in the Night (1987, Gregg Araki)
The Wolves of Kromer (1998, Will Gould)
Velvet Goldmine (1998, Todd Haynes)
I also enjoy:
Edge of Seventeen (1998, David Moreton)
My Own Private Idaho (1991, Gus Van Sant)
Head On (1998, Ana Kokkinos)
Party Monster (2003, Fenton Bailey & Randy Barbato)
I would post film trailers but apparently, as a new user, I am unable to.
I highly recommend these films, and if anyone has any recommendations, that would be great.

I really enjoyed The Skinny. It was cute.
•
not really a "gay" movie but it is funny as hell is "I love you Phillip Morris"
•
Latter Days, an older one but still a good film.
•
Two very strong argument movies but pieces of art I have seen are
The Ages of Lulu
The Berlin Affair
•
Two movies:
1. Girl, Interrupted
2. Dahmer (Yes, not much of a gay movie but it has elements in there) haha
