Problems with sweat, TMI warning
#1
Hello this is my first post, I came here seeking out a gay forum for this question.

I sweat very easily and would like to know if there's anything I can do to sweat less so I won't disgust my partner during sex. Most of my body is fine but even a few hours after a very thorough shower I can start to smell my rear end if I'm naked. I'm pretty sure the smell is caused by the same reason that armpits smell, rubbing flesh, only worse down there.

I'm not obese, and I'm a vegetarian that eats unhealthy food in moderation. I haven't had gay sex yet because I imagine I would eventually get pretty sweaty even if it's immediately after a shower. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

first off; welcome to gayspeak

-would not be inappropriate to shower before after, take the partner with you
-change you personal hygiene; for example try baby wipes, use a different body wash. Talcum power, look for a scented version you like. Become familiar with a few cologne scents you might like 4example; Prada Amber Pour Homme is the first Prada fragrance from way back, lite scent, standard stuff. Or a good knock off of it. Take a second shower when you arrive home from work
-vegan is all good but experiment with your diet, for a few days write down what you eat/drink and evaluate if its in a proper ratio. Go to a professional dietitian. Introduce new foods.
-change your exercise, gym, run?

If you have body hair and I mean quite a bit you may want to consider waxing or shaving it as it can harbour sweat which can in turn smell. Personally I'd recommend a good deodorant one preferably that offers 24 hour protection and perhaps one that is an antiperspirant to stop you sweating. Talcum powder is a good one for down below, but try to get a masculine smelling one, you don't want to be smelling of flowers down below. Although I'm not a smelly person I do get a bath/shower twice a day, three times even if I have been to the gym or out for a run.

Three thoughts:

1) Some people LIKE sweaty sex.
Smile

2) You may want to look at your caffeine consumption as well. Too much coffee (for example) may induce a "nervous" sweat, and sort of like eating too much curry may actually produce an odor.

3) Your sweating may be a physical condition that needs to be addressed by a doctor.

Good luck.

Does your sweat make you anxious thus making you sweat even more? Might be worth taling to a doctor about this. Also, I somehow thought that sex always gets sweaty. I mean - it's a proper exercise! Wink

If you are concerned about your body odour, try antiperspirant body sprays. They might leave your skin tasting like deo, thogh. Also, I am quite sure that pharmacies have stronger grade deos available.

Hope this helps.

Oh here's a suggestion which may be a bit "out there" but I know a few people who have had Botox in order to stop excessive sweating, unlike the procedure which is used in cosmetic surgery, it lasts longer and well let's face it it's relatively cheap these days but make sure in the small chance you do consider it, that it is a specialist and licenced professional who does the procedure. Isn't medical science fun. :-)

First lets rule out medical causes: http://www.webmd.com/healthy-beauty/feat...al-problem

There are potential medical causes for the sweating, go to a doctor and get them ruled out.

You do not stink because of the sweat. Sweat itself is fairly neutral. Sweat contains mainly water. It also contains minerals, lactate, and urea and in some areas trace chemicals like hormones and pheromones.

What causes stink is bacteria that live on your skin They enjoy the damp, moist warm environment that your sweating causes thus they multiply and eat and poo - that poo is what you smell.

It can also be fungal - now this is a different problem that requires medical attention. An anti-fungal shampoo will usually kill out a fungal infection of the skin.

If you are using a deodorant antiperspirant - stop using it and go for just an antiperspirant one that is unscented or hypo-allergenic. This will pretty much reduce the amount of potential foods for those bacteria.

Talcum Powder (not baby powder as baby powder has scents which can be potential food sources for bacteria) Unscented basic talc should be applied to areas that gets lots of sweat.

I would also suggest moving to natural materials in the way of clothing. Cotton is perhaps the best in that it breaths, absorbs moisture and readily dries. Silk briefs are not a good idea - Silk does not breath as readily as cotton.

Thank you everyone I will try these one by one except the botox haha. And I'll try a doctor as well since I do have night sweats and that webmd page lists that as a reason to talk to one. Thanks again.

The Botox one was quite out there but is gaining popularity, also the night sweats is concerning as it can be an indicator of something else.
