I wish. He's always too busy. He's always working/school/with his GF and he's 16 hours behind me in time so even if he is available, I'm either asleep or at work. He texts me or sends me a message on FB whenever he can, but text is so...emotionless and limited. I just really want to be back home so I can see him whenever I want. It's whatever though, kinda have to put up with it for now until I make friends here.

you don't need to chat for hours, do you? Five minutes here, five there, you'll feel better. I lived abroad when there was no Internet (imagine!!! LOL) and long distance phone calls were expensive. It took a week at least for a letter to be delivered. I know the feeling...

And your co-workers? Maybe try taking classes in Japanese cooking? Or find or put together a group of people who would want to travel around Japan, or find someone who would enjoy sightseeing during weekends? Are there some foreigners too? Do you speak Japanese? Do you live in a campus?
