How are you today?
monk Wrote:Worried about my dog - he's having an operation today, bless him.

Everything crossed for you mate. As a long time dog owner I know they are family, and as the owner of a 14 year old blind and arthritic riddled dog, I know the apprehension you feel.

I hope it all goes well, and keep us posted Wink

Hope it goes well Monk Smile
Sometimes you need a bit of chaos in your life to be able to shrug off pitiful disdain about something meaningless.

Thanks guys - he's back home!

Having to re-book the operation until they can get a couple of specialist dog-handlers in. He managed to throw off four people - there was no way he was having an injection - and he's a BIG DOG!

He'd been very ill-treated when we rescued him and I think he was just frightened of strange people in a strange place.

So now we wait . . . Rolleyes

Smile what kind a dog is he, monk? Do you have pics? Smile Did they let you be with him, so that he wouldn't have felt so frightened?

My partner was one of the four people he threw off!

He's a bull mastiff - the dog, not my partner.

I haven't taken any pics as yet, but he's very similar to the pic below.

Oh I love Mastiffs, gentle giants.

I have always wondered why they never named a chicken breed a 'mastiff'....now that's going to get people thinking Wink

Keep us posted on progress mate Wink

Monk , I had a Mastiff a long time ago.
He also had a nasty reaction to vets , I don't understand why they did not give you some pills to give the dog so he is calmer.

I had to do it with Mac , every time he had to go to the Vets.

@ dfiant: Chickens?

@ Rainbowmum: The thought of some sort of pills didn't cross my mind. Maybe they'd clash with the anaesthetic? I must ask.

He's now re-booked for 18th July - that's the soonest they can get in these "handlers".

So we wait again . . .

Male chickens = cocks.

So a male chicken would be a mastiff??? Burnbg
