Being the sales assistant often feels like being the ASS-istant. Get it? If I'm doing all the work of a salesperson, then why ain't I getting paid like a salesperson, commission and all?! I do more running around the office and schlepping samples to and from places than anyone else I know! Do I or the other assistant in the office ever get the recognition we deserve? He does, I don't.

Know what there needs to be? An Assistant Appreciation Day! Hey, there's Secretary's Day, why not one for the assistants, the one know have to do the grunt work sometimes for the boss?

I have to read the vendor manual for a new account we're working with. I got the manual last week, and I pushed it off, thinking it's just going to be the same old same old rules as other accounts. I looked at it today for the first time. Boy was I in for a rude awakening. They're worse than the other finicky accounts that we work with! And I was supposed to have called our contact over there today to discuss some points in the manual! I told my salesperson you have to read it, it's super strict and complicated! And she was like, what's so complicated about it? Just read it, and give me a brief summary of it, and call her! It's her mother f*****g account!

Then when the s*** hits the fan, I and everyone else takes the blame BUT HER, cause she says she doesn't get involved with this or that, I just get the order and stuff, and you got the manual!
