I spent 2 years off n on in a relationship like this, with someone who never planned on coming out due to his profession, if ever i hear the word closet now i back off, you must be brave.

Somehow managed to completly miscomunicate and blissfully pitched up at home at 19:30

My son was on his way out to drive to the farm. A 240Km round trip just to look for me

Seems he was expecting me at around 12 bells. By 15:00 he called the farm, and learnt I'd left at 09:30 (usual time)

Meanwhile I'm chomping popcorn & slurping Coke in the latest Trekkie movie

It's been a good day until I had a falling out with my sister.

He's closeted and won't be coming out for an awful long time, I know it sounds bad from me but I'm very family orientated and would love to get to know the family of a partner I had unless they were homophobes.

I know how that feels. My first boyfriend was semi-closeted (only out to a few close friends and his aunt who is also gay) as well, though I think his mother at least suspected. It made it very awkward when we got around any of his family or friends that didn't know. Plus we couldn't go very many places without having to "act straight." Which was not what I came out for. He eventually broke it off with me, which really hurt. But looking back on it, now that I'm in a relationship with someone who is not in the closet, things are a lot better. No, we can't be as open as we'd like to be in public, mainly because of where we live, but at least we can be seen in public together without wondering if we're going to run into someone who knows one of us but doesn't know we're a couple.
