Um made an oath ta myself to no longer correct my speech, as I personally feel like it is conforming to Societal standards on what is and is not "right" and that it's destroying my cultural roots by trying to speak "proper" .

I was doing this mostly because I was always told how in order for us to succeed from the islands, we have to change our speech, but I find this severely unfair, and so have decided to stop.

I've taken time to look on it and my speech and culture is what makes me unique and special, so by changing that, I'm spitting in the face of my ancestors who were taken from their homelands, and survived and adapted to make a new life for us.
