Yes! Today I did the Great North Run... as a runner, I am so lucky to have the world's most popular half marathon event right on my doorstep! I didn't beat my personal best, but I wasn't too disappointed with my finish time- and far more importantly, I raised nearly £180 for a local charity! After I'd finished, Joseph made me a lovely meal of pasta and sauce, served with fresh bread...just what the docter ordered, I had a serious need for carbs and lots of them!! A great day, but I am so pleased I don't have to work tomorrow. I think it might be hard to get out of bed, or even move much, in the morning!

YEAH ME.

Snow seems to have gone wonderfully.

A full upgrade in just under one hour.

Now I am starving and sleepy after all that work Scatter

HANNAH
CONGRATULATIONS
WISH I COULD JOIN YA ONE DAY

Thanks fjp! Did you used to run? Did you ever take part in any events, or was it more a solitary thing for you?

Youre welcome Lilmy (oops, did I call you something else  ).

I was pretty large and put myself on a diet then eventually walking and then running. Been running ever since Jr. High school.

Just started up again after a health break Laugh2 Laugh2

Always been a solitary thing for me and the best were the hills of San Francisco.

That's OK; I did introduce myself as Hannah in my welcome thread. Confusedmile: You must have had some stamina, I'm not sure I could cope with such gradients! How is it going for you, since you started up again? Very achey today, by the way...I think I'll still be hobbling tomorrow!

Nothing that a little aspirin couldn't take care of, Hannah, just in case you are not allergic to it. Next time you do something like the half marathon, or running, take a bit of aspirin before you do the race and you'll see that your muscles respond much better the next day.

Oh and btw I forgot to congratulate you on making so much money for the charity... I'm sure the meal Joseph prepared was well deserved. Confusedmile:

Yeah, one really doesnt know what they have till it is taken away

My stamina and recovery time was pretty impressive but I am sure that if you were to start slowly you could mess up those hills of SF. I must say that I impressed myself whenever I made it up the hill I lived on. It was the final leg of a world class marathon.

I might have crawled on my hands and knees but I slowly got to the top Rofl

Lets not talk about my insane return to jogging... lol.

It is hard to prep for a marathon of the length ya did. What is your usual routine?

Extremely tired. Only got about 3 hours of sleep last night after losing an hour due to an unexpected time change. Excited about pulling into Jebel Ali, but not sure if I want to go out today, or stay on the ship and sleep before my tour tomorrow (Sand boarding for the win!).

Keeping track of where everyone is in the shop right now until they call Liberty Call.
