The car was parked and she removed the lid to place cream in the cup and accidentally spilled the cup into her lap, and then received 3rd degree burns, did not receive enough money in the settlement to even cover her medical cost, and died a few years later. Her actions were normal, and the coffee was served at a dangerous temperature that McDonald's had received complaints about numerous times before but refused to do anything about. The pattern of the burns are due to the movement of the coffee through her pants.
Im sorry, but regardless of squeezing or not, it was caused by HER stupidity.
Ive worked with "special needs" people who know not to stick hot drinks between their legs.
Obviously this woman had no business being out in public without a handler.
Regardless of the served temperature of that specific coffee....coffee is served HOT. Anyone with working brain cells knows you dont put HOT drinks between your legs....just for this reason.
Not upset or "screaming" here, Im just stating fact for people who have a working mentality of some sorts, which this woman did not apparently have.
Yes, I have done stupid dumbassed things in my life, and I have learned from my experiences, but I dont go around sticking my hand into fires, sticking my tongue in light sockets, or putting hot drinks in my crotch, when I KNOW what the result will be. Im definitely not the most intelligent person on this planet, but I think I learned enough by 3rd grade not to do these types of things.
