Gay and "Disabled".. can anyone else relate?
#41
I've dated one guy in high school who was in a wheelchair. We ended up breaking it off for other reasons. But I would never let a wheelchair, or any other disability, get in the way of my finding love. If I find someone I really like it wont matter if their in a wheelchair. I don't treat people with disabilities differently, because I know I'd hate it if anyone treated me differently just because of a disability.

I would never rule out someone simply because they are disabled. In fact, my current boyfriend has Asperger Syndrome, and apart from the fact that he doesn't pick up on social cues very well, you'd never know there is anything wrong. In fact, I think it makes him even more adorable, except when he won't shut up while I'm trying to watch a movie or a tv show, cause then I get pissed off.

And I know my situation is not as "difficult" for lack of a better word, than say someone who is wheel chair bound or a more noticeable disability. But still, what's important is the personality and character of someone, not if they are disabled or not.

It's good that you have come to terms with it, it is a major step one takes. It is a good aid, but ifyou can, get a walker first.

I have both, walker for at home, the wheelchair for the shops. It works pretty good Smile

Na I dont need a walker. I got problems with my back so I got to have a wheelchair. Plus I keep falling over all the time and cant get back up.

My main problem at the moment is also my balance, so my 4 wheeled walker works great, but it is a bit hectic on the back though.
