Have a nice day being pedantic Wink

I don't see how pointing out the obvious xenophobia in the term "a race of extremists" is pedantic but sure. What you said is basically "I don't care if anyone's offended by me insulting an entire race, because there are certain extremists from that race who don't give care that their murdering ways offend me". With that kind of twisted logic we could just proclaim that every race is pure evil, because some people from that race are, and get it over with.

just call me a " loon" thats what our press labels anyone who feels disquiet about islam in britain, likewise if your worried about immigration, your labeled a bigot or worse, a racist, such easy terms freely chucked about. likewise political party with national interests are referred to as the nazi party. So on etc its just the trend. Political "correctness"

Would it be overly sensitive to point out that islam is no more a race than methodist is?

To make clear as possible. Theres people who have concern. Who see things more as a whole. And people who want to cause hurt or pain.

I have all respect in the world for a peace loving muslim, but if you start advocating terrorism, or speaking down about my country or the west, then bloody leave, GO AWAY. Dont belong here. Seriously piss off!

But islam is islam. Regular muslim will tell you an extreme muslim is wrong,BUT VISE/VERSA

Anyway this will lead nowhere, its over, until the next attack.

Okay some things need to be seriously cleared up, and I'm somewhat annoyed so I apologize for the length of this post.

First of all, I'm not racially sensitive. Really. If there's anything I hate it's the whole political correctness thing going on where almost anything can be perceived as a sign of racism. I'm not denying there are truly demented muslims; fundamentalists who kill in the name of their faith and whatnot. It should be fairly obvious that they exist by now.

Some background information: I grew up and still live in a small, intolerant village with only a handful of immigrants. One of my best friends is muslim (and by the way, he's fine about my sexuality) and I remember the first time I went to his house to play. I was a little nervous of course because I had grown up in that hell-hole to believe we were somehow different. He had two sisters, one of them wore a hijab and the other one didn't. This was because the one wearing a hijab wanted to show people her faith and stand up against prejudice, whereas the other one wanted to assimilate herself completely which is impossible if you show people you're a muslim.

Anyways, his parents were a calm couple who had worked at multiple jobs for several years in order to buy a house. Back where they came from the man was a lawyer and the woman a psychologist but they had to run away from war and settle down as shop attendants and personal assistants. I've been to several muslim homes since that point but their hospitality was shocking to say the least as they constantly made sure I had everything I needed, wasn't hungry etc.

Right now, 10 years later we're still friends and go to the same school where there are quite a few muslims. Some of them wear hijab's, others don't, for the same reasons I described. Few of them speak perfect Swedish but they try really hard and study a lot more than I do because they can't take respect for granted and therefore pursue knowledge. Once more, these people are somewhat modernized in terms of their acceptance of sexuality.

Why have I bothered to tell you all of this? I mean, obviously with more than a billion muslims in the world, there are going to be several good ones, right? I told you all this because the islamophobia that's been growing in support hurts THEM as well. People watch the news to find gruesome imagery of violent muslim fundamentalists performing all sorts of depraved actions in the name of God. This is a never-ending source of suspicion, not aimed at muslim fundamentalists but at muslims as a whole. I've noticed in my own country that they're already being turned into scapegoats, causing a xenophobic political party to become more powerful than it's ever been before. When people watch muslim women wearing hijabs they either assume it's being worn because the countries associated with it are dominated by men or they conjure up images from the medias and immediately avoid eye contact.

It's okay to say that there are many violent muslims- because there are. It's okay to be afraid of a faith you can't understand. But it's NOT okay to call muslims the "race of extremists" because of a recent crime that made you upset. There are more than 1 billion muslims in the world that you are condemning because of the actions a very small minority of them have committed. If you call yourself rational adults you need to understand the error in this perspective.

EDIT: Oh and this is just a sidenote but given your signature, I wouldn't expect such an eagerness for executions, dfiant.
