What turns you off?
#11
So why all the hate on obese people? I noticed it being a trend in almost every single post made here. Sure over eating is a choice but usually it stems for much further than just "over eating" and not exercising enough. Its common knowledge that most people's overeating habits stem from some emotional distress or feelings of being out of control so they control the one thing that they can control which is the amount of food they eat to make themselves feel better. You would think a community that faces some of the same type of discrimination wouldnt show such towards others in their personal lives.

How would you feel if someone put down "all gay people" on their list of undesirable traits? Maybe those "fat people" are trying to fit into those bicycle shorts so they can feel just alittle better about themselves instead of using food for that feeling. So that they can go biking and try to lose some weight so people dont make fun of them for being overweight and in bicycle shorts.

If you want people to understand and accept you and where you are coming from first you have to understand and accept that tehre are going to be other people out there not exactly like you. Acceptance is a two way street. You gotta give it to get it back.

-religion and or huge personal beliefs systems
-republican politics
-addictions
-frustrating to convey a though, share a document to an un connected person
-people who consistently move ownership of a bad outside their environment

I'd say my biggest turn-off would be stupidity. Or maybe ignorance would be a better word. Either way, if you have nothing to teach me, I have nothing to be interested in. It's not like I expect a genius or anything, I just mean someone who knows something - about the world, about a hobby, just anything I don't. If you're just one of those simple creatures who just work, eat & sleep... not interested in the least.

Other than that, I hate people who tell me what to do- especially when they somehow think I'm aroused by the idea of being bossed about, as so many seem to have thought. I'm all for a guy taking control of the situation once in a while, but when he decides he wants to just order me about full-time, I pretty much lose all interest.

People who are overly confident (or at least, confident without reason to be). That just gets on my nerves. Confidence in general is sexy, but when you're just a cocky bastard, and you don't even have the goods to back it up, it's just irksome.

I think that's pretty much all my main turn-offs.I like to think I'm pretty flexible when it comes to relationships - I have my type, but I have no qualms with deviating from it in almost every way. These are really my only strict "rules" in that sense, and I like to think they don't apply to too many people... or maybe I'm just an optimist Tongue

Yeah, I agree. It's a little bit on the shallow side, but at the end of the day we all have things we like/don't - and we can't help that. For some people it's mental, for some it's physical. Everybody's got their own attractions lol.

The OP kind of made it a point of "Yuck!" Plus its very prevalent in the gay community as a whole that "thin is in" Its about as bad as the world of super modeling to be super thin unless you are part of the subsect of like bears/bear chasers or super chub chasers or something. But like I said those are a subsect.

I just think its alittle insensitive to include obese people on a list such as this when in most cases its not something that they can readily control. Its not just a matter of simply telling them to eat vegetables and exercise more. Thats the equivalent of me telling you to go date a man to help you stop being a lesbian. Its just not that simple.

little key into to this; its difficult to watch what you eat in a society that 80% of the people are clinically over weight.
-You say you lost 22 pounds and they ask if your ok in terms your got cancer or something.
-walk into a super market and you cant eat 99% of what is on the shelves.
-your supposed to find fat people attractive, actually they self modified their bodies to ugly
-reduce your personal functionality, be obese.

to clarify with example:
-your in a successful relationship, you routinely self modify your attitude and are the generous husband. People are jealous you have a good house hold, they could do it too if they wanted it.
-you save money, pay bills on time and people are jealous you have toys too, when they would not even have an idea what to do with a fast sport bike. Instead they block your lane and give you their fat finger. You make a lunge for the finger and they freak.
-by brute force you come up with a really creative idea or fix at work and go out to celebrate, they object to you having an insane drunken good time.
-you are in reasonable shape and its hot 100 degrees F outside, all you can do is listen to the fat people complain.
-a pair of almost new size 32 Burberrys pants are on half off discount at the consignment shop with the dry cleaners tags still on them

I do have a thing about fat people. Hence the OP.

But it's not just about that. Being obese is a bad choice - and it is a choice in most cases - when it comes to health. You get all kinds of conditions including diabetes, and everyone else ends up paying for the treatment, at least in UK. The cost to the NHS is somewhere between 5 and 10 billion quid a year, which is serious money.

Nobody's discriminating against obese people. Some users (myself included) have just pointed out that it's a turn-off for them. The difference is huge and it's not a matter of acceptance. By that logic I would be a misogynist because people with vaginas are (usually anyways) turn-offs for me.
