Love My Kitchen Gadgets !!!

MisterTinkles Wrote:How about some "art fridges"? [...]

They look great but I still prefer this beauty:

The wonderful Zanussi Undercounter Fridge Freezer ZRG614SW.

The salesman on the video called it 'a perfect machine' and he's right. The fridge looks small (only 85 cm tall) but it really isn't, no mm is wasted here. It saved me lots of space in my kitchen and energy as well (only half the energy consumption of a regular fridge!).

Moreover it cost me only 279 euros, whereas a regular 'big' fridge in my country costs around 800 euros.

And it's Zanussi! Smile

Speaking of kitchen gadgets, I took my Thermomix to school today:

It was a huge hit, my students loved it!

The subject was customer management so I used Vorwerk as an exemple - a great excuse to bring my Thermomix with me and try a recipe.

We did some lemonade, each student had a specific task, everyone helped and the final result was great.

OMG OMG OMG!

My new Zanussi oven arrived this week and it's awesome!

10 different programs, self-cleaning function (!), preheating and it is beautiful!

I got a bit carried away and also bought the silicone accessories you can see on photo #3.

Like Pamela Anderson, I am a huge fan of silicone: easier to wash and store, no scratches, 100% non adherent.

I would NEVER cook/bake in silicone.
Supposedly cooking food in those things leaves traces of silicone in the foods cooked in them.

True or not, Im not taking that chance!!!
I got enough wrong with me now!!

Yes, I've heard it before.

It's possible but maybe the amounts of silicone are insignificant, I don't know. Silicone is everywhere these days and so many huge brands use it, I'm sure they wouldn't take the risk if that was the case.

Anyway, for a kitchen as small as mine, silicone is a true blessing - I can store these articles anywhere, e.g. just throw them in a drawer.

Another one I bought recently: pasta pan with glass lid and steam valve.

I'm happy with it but not entirely happy: the transparent lid isn't always transparent because of the condensation; and the steam valve (the hole you can see on the lid) seems to be too small.

Nevertheless, it was a good buy and a very versatile gadget: if I need a conventional pan, I just remove the pasta recipient and voilà!

And most importantly, no more mess in the kitchen and no more pasta slipping down the sink! Smile

Those are nice, but I am not supposed to eat pasta anymore, so I never bought one.
I LOVE glass lids though.
