I'm on a mission, not to save you, but to selfishly get gay guys in my church.

If you need to define "God" for anyone but yourself...and define your BELIEF as anything other than a BELIEF...then you should re-examine your motives and ask yourself why you need other people to see things the same way you do.

Evangelizing on a gay site never goes over too well....for good reason...

I think the issue here is people are only reading what they want to read, and interpret in a different way than writer intended just to start conflict. Not just on this thread, but others. And I already have a group of loves on here that don't like me for various reasons, but now that they've found others that don't like me, they gang up like dogs and bark at me.

I remembered why I'm not on a forum, because there are so many Negative Nancys and Bitchy Bettys that run off the positive people. The purpose of a forum to me seems to be for Bitchy Bettys to get together and claim that they're open minded, yet they insist on shoving their cockish opinions down your throat.

If you read it like an openminded person, you'd see I wasn't trying to convert anyone, I was simply inviting people who think like me (whether you like it or not) to join me. IF YOU READ MY STATEMENTS, YOU'D SEE I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE WHO DON'T BELIEVE IN CHRISTIANITY, OR GOD AT ALL!

For the record, just because a person gets a college degree in science doesn't mean that individual becomes Stephen Hawking.

People here have an illness, the same illness that is found in American Republican politics, in fundamental religious organizations, the same illness that created our violent history. Hate. I've always hoped that the next generation (after this gay rights movement is over) would rid of all this greed and hate, because I was under the impression that gays know what suppression is like, and they know how to be openminded. I was wrong.

I don't think that this forum is being used as the creators intended it. Like one guy pointed out, I'm just a gay guy who happens to be Christian.

The assholes win. I'm outta here.

Sadly that is not necessarily the case with any group, sorry to see you depart. Sad

And there lies your problem...your first post you called everyone who didn't agree with you an asshole, and you last post (because you have been called out for ramming your beliefs (Preaching) down our throats), you once again call us assholes...nice work for the religious 'TYPE' you are.

Personally I want nothing to do with hypocricy, so peace to Gayspeak for your leaving us alone Wink a very wise decision to leave and with your attitude and even more wise decision if you chose to never come back Wink

Second of all, of course we can question, debate and argue about anything we please; religion included. It would be ridiculous to support the notion that religion somehow should remain undiscussed. My entire point was that peaceful threads dedicated to Christians shouldn't receive hateful comments from atheists and vice versa. You don't go into a church, mosque or synagogue as an atheist simply to say "you're all wrong". If you disagree you shouldn't really have gone there in the first place. This is just my opinion at the very least.

Christian thread spreading negativity or hatred - Question it
Religiously neutral/ambiguous thread created for discussion - Share your own view
Peaceful thread made SPECIFICALLY for Christians - don't post rude anti-religious comments.

Also, I am an atheist.
So you have not being rude but calling someone a douche bag isn't... I wasn't born yesterday and your comment was directed to me (because I was the first to respond to that thread - yet I don't see where was I a douchebag in my reply)... well if you truly are an atheist and not just because you don't believe in god but because you are in search of reality you would not find that douchey... also have you noticed how extremely aggressive that first post came in... he knew very well what he was doing and if you follow its previous posts he was also very expeditive to others... so perhaps for you it was a peaceful thread for which I may have disturbed your goody two shoe peaceful life... but if you can read between the lines he was there to stir shit just like many of his kind does on other forum.

There are many type of atheists, there are those who just doesn't believe and find fathomable the concept of creationism but doesn't do any research as to why they do not believe, there's the other who just don't give a rat ass period... and there my kind those who are not just saying that they're non-believer, they also do research, those are the one who often people believe to be gravely rude, but yet as an atheist I do not shove my doctrine through your throat... if you tell me something i'd just say "ok but if Adam and Eve where the first, what about Lilith" Do you know how many of those bible freaks are unaware of Lilith funny enough it's in there, the 5 books of Pentateuch called "Genesis."

So HT as I said before, if you got something to tell me just say it straight and stop taking detour... believe it or not I am a dad and my dear little girl that is so much like me is your age, don't you think I can't deal with you? Next time you want to call me douche bag at least say it clear say it loud and say it to my face... but hell will you ever face the consequences. You hit and run I can outrun you anytime.

Attack me at will for I have an opinion or things that you don't, directly or indirectly and you'll always get an answer. Oh by the way Devon, Tyler, Matthew, Mike, all of them in the person of Alex, my husband say hi Smile

And to Episcopalian94 if you read this even though you left - stop being so much aggressive, all your posts were pretty much very aggressive calling people asshole and disrespectful... just a word about your Russian dude... behavior may have some ethnic background attach to them... but they are not prevalent (I could show in research that many many people are very reserved and it's not attached to a particular nationality) and judging from your way of expressing yourself here I am so not surprised why he's not opening to you... hopefully you're not like that with him or trust me he won't go forward with you, not many people would... attitude and communication are the key and the key-chain of every relationships.

As my buddy Dfiant said so well I'm not sad to see you go... take some time to put your thought together and come back when you'll accept that you can't always be right.

its unfortunate that Episcopalian94 left due to rudeness or what he perceived as rudeness, but it seems like he was hoping people would just join in his belief, without asking any questions about it. As soon as questions were raised, even if they were a bit barbed (should be understandable considering the kinds of experiences the LGBT community can have with religion), he turned around and called everyone assholes, without trying to discuss... well anything :/

Without some form of discussion, it really does seem like he just wanted people to agree with his religious views, without question. I'm probably wrong, but I'm just stating what I got from his posts

To be fair, a lot of you really were assholes to him before he could react. I don't blame him at all for leaving. This is exactly why I cringe every time I see a religious topic pop up anywhere here.

Anyways... I'm done with this popcorn. It got stale.

You probably didn't notice the other threads he posted in or started.

The religious topic was not the only topic to cause grievance

he managed to piss off many people on a number of different topics and threads by poorly thought commenting...anytime he got called out for it he started to call everyone a**holes...(just ask the women here, they received some of this)

he demanded tolerance by his definition of it, which as you can see from his goodbye post here is this: "I want to say what I want, nevermind how offensive, and not get called out for it, and if someone disagrees I'm going to call them Negative Nancy's, Bitchy Betty's, a**holes and compare them to Republicans"

I am actually sad that he departed. If he had toned it down, stopped insulting people and get in with the general friendliness of GS he could have been an asset here

and, sir....I haven't seen myself nor any other atheist starting threads demaning people to understand our point nor to shove our non-beliefs down to anyones throat..

you can see how it's a sore point for us to have to read stuff like the OP and expected to stay put..
