Homophobic dude in my class and I need to study with him- help?
#11
Teachers in our school don't really care about how we get on with our classmates. They just come, do the class and leave. I don't know how is it in the USA, but here teachers are only concerned on teaching.

Also I think it's possible that no one would believe me that he's so hateful. He's always very polite when the teachers is present and only picks at me when we're alone.

I don't want to do anything to challenge him, so I can't kick his face or something. He's bigger than me and stronger than me and I'm afraid that if I harm him in any way, it might be the last thing I ever do.

I don't know what to tell you then. It sounds like an awful way to live, and I really can't relate to being unwilling to stand up to a bully. Good luck I guess.

I advise victims of bullies in every country to stand up for themselves and put these thugs in their place. Bullies are cowards who will continue their shit only as long as their victims allow it. And seriously, what's with this apparent default fear of Russians?
Unfortunately it is biggoted shit, but it's also reality. Not every country is like America.

That's just an example.

Your peasants revolted when your Tsar bullied them to death. Do you know what happened to the Tsar and his family? Learn from your history, or you could choose to follow Jesus or Gandhi and take the beating until the bully gets tired of bullying you. Choose and stop whining.

I started to write a good revenge article, about just not doing the project, take a zero soo long as your grades are good enough for a zero, and watch him squirm as I bet his grades arent. but I dont know if colleges over there look at high school GPA Sad, id really need to know more about Russia to give good advice. I was never really bullied for being gay so most anything I say would be pulled from the air, but I can say you have two options, do nothing or do something, both are viable. You are almost done with high school so this will end soon, and you can be done and hold a good GPA and move on with your life. On the other hand the worst thing you can do to a bully is nothing. When I worked at Drake Software I was doing phone support and met many individuals who were the biggest assholes ive ever met, one made me soo angry I was nearly in tears, I don't cry, I ended up putting him on hold went to the division manager and explained my level of ticked off and that I was taking a break soo the ass on the phone stayed on hold till he hung up and I had a extra 30 minute payed break and kept my job. Telling the guy what I thought about him would have made me feel infinitly better but at the cost of a good paycheck. Moral of the story, you will deal with people that are assholes even out of school.

Hi very sorry to hear about your situation, nobody deserves to be bullied no matter who they are.
I have seen a recent documentary showing how badly LGBT people are treated in Russia.so I understand it must be very hard for you and very difficult.

Can you address the issue with a teacher, in regards to being bullied, being gay or not you are still being bullied and this is very wrong.
In time you will move on from this part of your life and hopefully things will get better for you.

As for education there are some very clever people on this site so you may get some help for that on here.

This bully is the one with the problem not you, being the caring person I think you are hopefully you will go far in life, while he will be stuck in his world of hate trying to put other people down to make himself feel better, probably because there something missing inside himself, and he will stay this way untill he learns to grow up.

Remember this site is here if you need us at anytime. Smile

Hey Anon.. your English is actually great.

In concern to your assignment, I would personally request a new partner. Regardless of his bullying, he's obviously a dick and isn't going to be helpful. Sure, you could do your end and not worry about him, but I'm guessing there's someone else in your class who'd be more of a team player? As for the bullying thing, I'm not sure what I'd do. I personally wouldn't kick his teeth in, though.

I know very little about Russia, but I do know that in some areas (as it's been addressed in this thread) it's actually quite dangerous to be gay, even if you're keeping to yourself. I don't know how it is where you live, or what the general feeling is on homosexuality, but I'd tread carefully. A gay kid beating up a straight kid would NOT look good to some people.

That said, I think you personally have two good choices. Talk to your teacher about his bullying and ask for a new partner, or tough it out (working with him) and be happy that you're almost finished with high school.

And the peasants got their asses handed back to them every single time until the soldiers joined them as well (which they did because the soldiers were also treated like crap and the Tsar just ordered them to open fire on their own families and the soldiers said "screw you" and joined their families against the Tsar).

Is the Russian military willing to back him on this?

Russia sounds like a rubbish place to live if Im honest - and the teachers don't sound great. I think the best way to react is to literally put up with his crap. I don't think getting into a fight or making the situation any worse will help at all - and he sounds like he could get nasty. Just grin and bare it seems to be the best course of action. Try getting some extra advice about the topic and do the best you can do - its all you can do Sad

I learn to love it more and more.

Read and learn. http://europeanhistory.about.com/od/russ...lution.htm

The Russian military didn't have a choice but to back the peasants or die.

"Furthermore, the rulers had little idea of the peasant view, and the mass of peasants had no engagement with the government; they had no worries about the wiping away of the whole Tsarist regime in 1917".

"The backward Russian military had created a mass of soldiers who, having been treated inhumanely and less than the common citizen, wanted some shred of dignity and better conditions. In 1917, the Bolsheviks would appear to offer this. In addition, the professional officer class was also alienated from the Tsar and his court over the question of modernizing. In had become apparent to the officers that war was changing, but the army remained mired in the past. These professionals turned to the Duma to try and force a solution".
