Signs of your homosexuality

Now I'm protective of my independence at 32 years old. I need to break of this habit though or else I won't be able to let a great guy in when I meet him. Sad

When I was 16 my Parents asked me at the dinner table, while we were eating, my mom said "are you Gay" My Dad froze with a piece of meat on his fork. A pause of silence as my brother looked right at me, and I said NO.
I played every kind of sports and was very good at it. 2nd degree black belt in shorin ryu Karate. base ball, football, awesome skiier.
Why did they ask? I talk with my hands. Thats just not the only thing. I stomped my foot when I was mad, I waved my index finger in a gay way at people when they were wrong,
It was actually hard to tell if I was Gay because I was also interested in girls, But my mom just NEW who I was.

Now I've been out nearly 15 years and when I come out to new people, everyone is shocked.
I wanna be like this only cause I like being unpredictable. Upset other people only because you exist is funny.

Uneunsae Wrote:Yes, I feel this stereotype is why many gay men dislike me. They feel that I am furthering the stereotype.

But I am just being myself and that's all. Sad

I also wish the stereotypes would change. Do you think it will change, now that gay marriage is becoming recognized in more states? It seems to make gay people more visible, especially gay families. So maybe straight people can see that we're not much different?

One step at a time. It hasn't been that long since most people thought that all gays were deserving of punishment. The great mass of people can shift their opinions, but it happens slowly.

TwisttheLeaf Wrote:To be honest? It wasn't until Gideon that I craved love and affection. I enjoyed sex with men, but I was -hell bent- on NOT ever being in a relationship or allowing any type of sexual encounter or otherwise that would compromise my independence.

(I emancipated at 16 and was fiercely protective of that independence.)

When I met Gideon, I -fought- falling for him for a long time. The man has the patience of a saint, yeah?
Gideon obviously thought you were worth it. And after 6 years together he now knows...
Wishing you many happy years together more.

As a kid I was a completely clueless bonehead jock, all into sports... so..... I didn't even have any awareness of anything sexual going on in my head. I just thought I "Just REALLY liked" one of my brother's friends more than I liked my brother. I was 13 at the time. My brother and his friend were 23.

Anyways, my brother picked me up from football practice dressed in nothing but shorts. His hair was wet. He told me he and the guy I was crushing on hand been shooting hoops and then got in the jacuzzi. (clothes were not allowed in the jacuzzi) Then before I even thought words came out of my mouth.

ME: NAKED??? both of you????
BRO: Yeah. There's nothing wrong with that.
ME: There's nothing wrong with it except that I wasn't there to see him. I've wanted to since forever.

At home I stormed to my room past my Mom & Dad, mad as hell I'd not seen my crush naked. While I was pouting my brother and parents had a talk and came to the conclusion I was possibly gay and they needed to break it to me gently if they could find a way. Before they did I got worried and went to my dad for some advice about it all. He acted like I'd asked for some new socks and just told me to keep him informed and remember to come ask any questions I had. The subject was completely dropped until I brought it up at age 21 to let them know I was sure I was gay. By that time they'd all figured it out.

I've been plagued with the "you're too pretty to be straight" crap all my life.
It really depends on the person and their pre-conceived notions.
For the most part I am very masculine just naturally, without any effort.

But when people see me and my stereotypical masculine behavior, they sometimes have a hard time matching up my "beautiful" looks with me being masculine aka "straight" in their eyes.
This ultimately reveals a boat load of crap on their end about themselves and makes them realize things about themselves and they either just bury it, roll with it or project it on to me and assume I'm at least bi because no "straight guy could ever be that pretty."

One thing that pisses me off is that masculine has seemingly become synonymous with straight...It's just not true.

My friend (The one that I recently came out to) told me that he started to wonder if I was gay because of how much I moderated the characters on his Tekken 6 game on his Xbox that I borrowed. It kind of made me laugh because I just made them fugly just because of the "lolz" xD
Sometimes you need a bit of chaos in your life to be able to shrug off pitiful disdain about something meaningless.
