It's HARD not to notice your avatar, Matty. I'm sorta "moving in now and more or less getting settled in. The MAIN thing I like is there's NO sleazy stuff going on and I bet you know what I'm talking about.

Where's your avatar, memechose?

I agree with you. It really is a nice site and am glad to have become a part of it.Ride

I'm REALLY having issues about an avatar. I want to do something funny BUT really off the wall and just not having luck finding the right one. I think I have one to use until I wander up on the "right" one.

Welcome.

I grew up in small towns and they form the basis of my positive experiences. Presently living in a 60,000 person city that is anything but a community.

Have been here 7 years, I am still an outsider for I did not grow up here, do not have family here, did not marry in to a family here and do not have any kids to participate in the sports that go on here.

Not sure if anyone here would pay attention if I was an alien with green skin, let alone being gay. If you ain't from here, you don't exist.

I envy the community you have become part of. My next stop will be a much smaller locale.

I really love the way of life around here. BUT seeing it through my BF's eyes makes me appreciate it more than I ever could on my own. When he was here in May it was nearly time for our grocery store to close and I called to get pork chops and told them to leave them outside for me and I'd pay the next day. My BF looked at me like this was some amazing magic trick. About five minutes later the owner's son brought the pork chops to my door on his motorcycle. MY BF grabbed my wallet and was going to tip the kid $20.00 but he wouldn't take it and drove off laughing. So the next day when we went to the store to shop I paid for the pork chops and gave the guy some gray hare's nymph flies I tied (for fly fishing) and you'd have thought it was his birthday.

Try getting all that to happen in a big city.Elkgrin
